I've been enjoying a compare/contrast with two ETLs, one bottled for Flatiron Select around 2005 and distributed through a number of stores in Manhattan (this bottle reminds me of blueberry pie of all things and is unfortunately no longer available) and barrel number 21 selected by HiTimes in Costa Mesa, CA (not nearly as sweet as the Flatiron, with more wood influence and more than a hint of cedar shavings). Both are excellent. I've also vatted Old Overholt Rye (Beam) with the first release of Handy Rye at 4:1 and this is exceptional - and is similar in flavor profile to High West Rendezvous Rye (batch 3).

Four Roses Single Barrel on the rocks.

I have never had this over ice before a couple of weeks ago.

Tony and I were down in KY helping a friend who owns a store down there pick out a private bottle of FRSB for his store.

Afterwards Jim Rutledge took us out to lunch and he ordered it that way, so I asked for the same.

Glad I did, it is yet another way to enjoy FRSB.

Tonight I am drinking Buffalo Trace, for the first time. (Finally available in Norway.)

Think it's a great bourbon!!!

The taste profile reminds me of Blanton's, is it the same mashbill?

Tonight I'm having a sip (or a few sips) of WT12 CFL. Wow! Do I understand why everybody raves about this.

When will I be lucky enough to run into a few more bottles of this? A good reason to enter a liquor store that is new to you. You just never know what will be on the shelves.

Amen to that Will! Some of my craziest days ended with, turning around and pulling into a store I had never seen before!

The stuff on the shelves is gettin slim in my neck of the woods :lol: !

WLW '08 w/ an ice cube. UPS brought it yesterday and I'm enjoying it tonight. I love it when it's delivered to the front door.

Around work this is getting to be a habit, since both of my immediate bosses enjoy bourbon... a Friday afternoon get together in the green room with a pour of something that one of us brings in. Yesterday, Keith brought in a bottle of AAA 10 yr...great bourbon, especially at $13 a bottle! Even the GM (the big boss here) joined in.

Last night I opened the bottle of '08 Stagg, and enjoyed a short pour.

Yesterday, while tailgating before the UF-South Caroline game, I enjoyed a few Margaritas (1800 Anejo with Cointreau and lime juice) and a healthy pour of OGD 114.

Tonight it is some of my newest acquisition - ORVW 107. This is good stuff.

A whole bunch of 98 EWSB, while tailgating before and after the Falcon's game today. Just one JBW during the game. The EWSB was exceptional.

Celebrating my FF win (those don't come often) and watching the Sunday Night Game with some OGD BIB followed by a pour of Rock Hill Farms and ERSB.

I couldn't find anything specific to tie in to toast Jimmy Johnson's third consecutive NASCAR Cup Championship, so I'm enjoying some Buffalo Trace neat.
