Congrats on your baseball season! My mother's from Philly so I have a soft spot for you guys.... well only once Boston was out of the race

James, My son is a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan, so in recent years when the Phils were out of it and Boston was in the World Series, I was pulling for the Red Sox

A Sazerac. I used a blend of bourbons and ryes, two absinthes, two shots of Peychaud's bitters and a dash of maple syrup. It is absolutely great.

A Yuengling Black & Tan to start. Now, a small pour of a single barrel bottling of Buffalo Trace. I opened this one up last night, and at the time I kept telling myself that this was the best BT I had ever had. Tonight's follow-up is supporting my first impressions.

Yo Birdboy! Who won that round? I say it was a toss up between the Fitz BIB and the Old No. 8 from the early 90's.

Just my thoughts!

A nice pour of 2004 ER17, while finishing up making a bamboo flute with my daughter for her music class project. Wow, this is good stuff. Why does it seem every bourbon I try lately is "the best EVER". :D I must be in the bourbon zone...

Opened up some Ridgemont Reserve 1792 that my wife bought for me (she liked the bottle)...didn't really like it much; not much of a nose nor did it wow the palate.

After the disappointing 1792 I opened up ERSB...Great second choice.

Hey, I just noticed, does your Washington location mean you're back home? Sorry if I missed it. I do remember you saying it was going to be in the fall, though. Well, welcome back!

Tried two new ones last night. FRSmB and Stagg.. I will leave the FRSmB comments for the BOTM... but the Stagg was damn good. It is right up there with PVW 15 for me.

It was so rich, deep, bold, and very satisfying.

Four Roses Single Barrel, neat.

Not a special private bottle, just a standard release.

That is if you can say any FRSB is just standard.

I'm enjoying a pour and a half of 2008 William Larue Weller to celebrate

Election Night 2008 and the end of having to watch and hear all those political commercials.

I just poured a Parker's Heritage Collection 2008, neat.

The nose draws you in, it is so deep, you don't know weather to drink it or keep smelling.

Lot B for Barack.

Listening to his victory speech as I type this.

Almost wish I had tried for a ticket to Grant Park, but I'm comfy on my couch in the northern burbs.

ERSB 10 here. Started off with a triple, then a double.

Had to have one more little pour just to commemorate the end of the election, so glad it is over. As new trevails begin, it's a comfort to face them with the warm glow of America's Finest Spirit in me.

Cheers!
