on my first pour of this newly acquired Old Forester Signature...so far so good! at this point, similar to OGD...somewhere between the BIB and the 114...i know it will be even better as it interacts with the air. yum. glad i bought it!

I bought WT Rye 101 as well as Mellow Corn and Old Fitzgerald. The Fitz was okay, the Mellow Corn's oily flavor was a turn off and the WT Rye was excellent. I like Rittenhouse BIB better, but this was still excellent.

I got suckered into buying the Old Forester repeal bourbon because I wanted the glass. anyway, I cracked open the bottle tonight. It is not so good. :puke: is there anything special about this stuff, or is it the same old bonded stuff aready available?

From what I understand it is suppose to be like the medicinal whiskey that they were allowed to make during prohibition.

If it is as bad as you say then I must ask, what does medical marijuana taste like?

i STILL want to try Mellow Corn....where is it available? i know it isn't expensive...but i need to make a decision if i want my brother to get it on his trip down south this week for T-Giving...is it available in Mississippi (which is where he is headin')?

what should i put on a short want list if he is plowing through alabama, missisippi and florida (panama city)?

I got it in Bowling Green, KY (on I-65). It is everywhere here. Perhaps it is worth the novelty - but I am glad I got the 375.

WT101 on the rocks after bowling. I'm waiting patiently for them to bring in a bottle of BT and I think we're getting close.

Sipping on some EC12 while watching MNF...Jerome Harrison, who played for Washington State during my college years broke a big one tonight. I'll have to toast one to him tonight for old times, my Cougs aren't doing so well this year.

Definitely the quote of the week :D

Blanton's SB tonight for me. Went looking for the BTAC here in Orlando and was told the ABC stores no longer carry it :( .. But I did find the allusive "S" to complete my set... Very good bottle of Blanton's as well..

Nice "E"!

My package arrived today and I could not help but open one! So tonight it's 10yr Old Crow 86 proof! Wow is this shiznits classy! So nice oily on the tongue with Brown sugar and Maple Syrup, it has a similar mouth feel to the older OT I've been drinking.

Thanks "E"

Tony

Ah-yeah.. Another satisfied... Err, uh... Hmmm bourbon addict :D - fun stuff eh...

Glad you got it... Not like when I sent Bird a shipment to his old address (and I had sent many things to his new address). Only took 3 weeks and an extra $12 for him to get it (forwarding shipping charge - dee dee dee).

Who's your Cookie!!!

I'm really happy with the cheap pour - Ten High. I like it better than the Benchmark and the Heaven Hill. I have not had a chance to try any of the more expensive stuff yet. To me the Ten High is nice and smooth and it tastes fine neat.

If you like the Ten High, I would also try the Very Old Barton if you can get your hands on it. I really like the 86 proof, but many people swear by the Bonded (100 proof).

on the topic of MELLOW CORN....:)

...A while back when I was looking for this I contacted Heaven Hill to see if they could help me locate some and they told me that this is only distributed in GA, KS, KY, and TN. I know others have found it elsewhere but I've never seen this on the shelf anywhere in my travels, unfortunately.

I was able to get a couple of backup bottles of ORVW 10/107 after work tonight, so I'm enjoying one of the last few pours out of a bottle, since I now have a good supply on hand.

Filling out health insurance papers for work tonight. New plan administrator, so I have to fill out all the open enrollment garbage. Again! For this reason, I'm hitting the 100's tonight. Had a pour of ORVW 10/107 when I got home from work. Weller Antique 107 while doing the dishes and trash. Weller Centennial after dinner, while doing my paperwork. Now I'm flying away with a pour of ER101. Happy Landings! Joe

Sounds like a hell of a night Joe! Do you have to put how many drinks per week on this "paperwork"?

I am also having some Old Weller Antique 107 (L'ville) while doing the dishes!

No one ever tells the truth on those things anyway

Tonight it is Buffalo Trace, neat

thanks for the info regarding it's latest availability.

still game to try it...i assume it's GOT to be better than the low low low shelf Heaven Hill white label....i prefer a can-of-corn taste (i love to USE corn oil, too!) to the unidentified can-of-grayish-vegetable flavor profile of HH's worst

It's funny you should mention the Heaven Hill White Label (White label, NAS, "Old Style Bourbon"?) I have a bottle of that open right next to the Mellow Corn. I didn't think the white label was too bad, certainly not the worst I've had although far from memorable. I'm sure you'll find Mellow Corn worth the wait once you do find it, sadly I don't even know of any online retailers that stock this. :/

For tonight it's Rittenhouse BIB! I can't say how happy I am to FINALLY have some more of this! :]

I did drink Parkers 127.4 yesterday. Very good but unfortunately the last out of the bottle. Anchor liberty ale did accomplish my dinner.

I am getting close to the end of the Parker's also. I am on the fence as to purchase another. What do you say?
