The best 4yo 80 proofer I've ever had; Old Crow in a "lightweight break-resistant" liter bottle (upc but no govt. warning).

Had a friend over last night for a small tasting.

Hudson 100% rye - I don't care for this stuff at all.

D&M 4Roses 110 - OESQ I think.

2009 GTS - finally popped one open.

My head hurt a little bit this morning. Too much Stagg, not enough food or water. Better now after Pho.

I haven’t had any bourbon in 2 days besides a couple of pours of WT 8 from a pocket bottle due to a cruise between Stockholm and Åland that is an island between Sweden and Finland. Today I had Dickel CH before diner and Rittenhouse BIB after. The Dickel amazes me every time considering the age and proof and the rye just taste better and better for every time I have it. By the way my lady and me did see a very big sea eagle from the boot at very short distance, which I guess, is an ones in a lifetime thing here in Sweden.

AA from 1967, 86 proof, 6 yrs - Thank you Mr Fish-n-Bowl-Joe

Nose:

Butterscotch and touches of distilled cane sugar (rum), earth or more like wetted wood or wood shavings, almost like wet newspaper, aged leather,

Taste:

Its AA for sure… great AA with that earth tone followed up by a cane or cooked sugar note. The second sip brings in come cream almost like heavy cream and dark sugar right be for boil. There are some SW features to this

Finish:

Touches of butterscotch mixed with the leather, wet oak/wood shavings and then some of the SW style burnt butter like quality(sugar butter in a pan). There is an initial drop off at about 15 seconds that is followed by a second leg that is typical AA tones of leather and wood.

Overall:

What a nice bourbon. Than you Fishnbowljoe… I really dig this juice. I have a couple handles from the later 70s that are not quite this good, but in the same vein…

Old Taylor 6 yr 80 proof. It's a little light but still has the butterscotch flaovor that I enjoy.

Starting off with a very small pour of OWA NAS. Very small because it's the last one from the bottle. Not sure what's next up on the menu. Joe

Yeah I switched over to '09 WLarueW after a small Stagg.

Wheaters go good in the cold snowy weather.

Indeed they do, had a nice little pour of WLW 09 last night to warm my cockles.

Today enjoying the fruits of a fairly productive dusty hunt and enjoying some brown label WT 80. c. 1998. Delightful afternoon pour.

well I went to the store and got four bottles

One Mcscrooges Single Barrel 4 Roses... tastes good... when I bought it I got it with the glasses and then felt guilty as I thought maybe I shouldn't but it as there is this Wellers 12Year that I bought and I could tell that the owner thought it was just as good, (half the price) but i bought it anyways.

Weller 12 year old Mcscrooges barrel... damn this stuff is good. I like it better than the 4 roses at half the price.

Weller Antique... ok I didn't pop the cork yet...

Half Gallon of Old Fitz 80 Proof.... (drinking that now) ... Its ok... cost 20 bucks as opposed to the 38 for the 100 proof .... Tastes a little weak lolz... is good though... I think my pallet got adjusted to the higher proofs and it seems a little lacking after the 12 year old Wellers! If I have to buy more bourbon I think the Wellers 12 YO is the one i like the best and the Old Fitz is good for a backup when you are 'drinking'.... cuz its 20 for a half gallon or half the price.

I did have kind of a rye evening yesterday. I had WTR before dinner and Overholt 1981, Handy 2008 and Rittenhouse BIB after. The old-timer surly came out short this time.

I started last night with an 08 OFBB. Been a while since I had it and I forgot how good it is. Then I finished out the evening with a couple pours of some vatted OWA and OWA NAS that I am trying to get rid of. I find it interesting how two bourbons of presumably the same mashbill and yeast can taste good on their own yet taste worse when you mix them together.

Made a batch of my "almost famous" chili today. Chili, football, and now I'm going to settle in with a nice pour of 08 GTS. Don't git no better than that Vern. Joe
