Passed on some dusty Dant BIB's. I didn't even check the DSP or bottle year because I'm really not that sure of what is what when it comes to Dant, and it's only gotten so-so reviews that I have read. I've had one new-ish bottle of Dant BIB and was underwhelmed.

Passed on some good bottles today: Handy 2010, WLW 2010, BMH 14 & 16, WT Tradition, Pappy 23, PHC 27yr & Golden Anniversary. All high end stuff that I wish I had the money for.

Passed on more bottles of Handy 2010, RHF (different looking bottle than yesterday though), PHC Golden Anniversary, and EC18. Also passed on bottles of 2010 ER17, ETL, Woodford Reserve Master's Collection - Maple Wood Finish, and WTKS.

There were 3 bottles of WTKS. One was a dark top from 2006 and the others were the lighter tops. Is the dark top worth picking up?

I've always been much fonder of the dark tops... Much.

I've read multiple posts here that have more or less turned me off of the light top bottling. Though I also read that quality started to decrease after '04, which is why I asked.

Not many people passing up much lately apparently.

I passed on a Colonel EH Taylor and a Pappy 15, for $100 and $90 respectively my bunker doesn't need them that bad.

The Minnesota allocation for both was minuscule I was told. This store only got 1 Pappy 15 this go around.

The last few times I've been to the store I've passed on ORVW 10/90, ORVW 10/107, and Jefferson's Presidential Select 18 yr. I'll probably pick up this last one sometime soon though.

I'd be interested where you saw the taylor at< I asked my local store about this the other week and they said they weren't able to get any/wasn't available in MN. I'm going to be up in the cities tomorrow and hunt one down. Going to male some rounds at places I haven't been before.

I also chose to pass on the Colonel EH Taylor today while at Binny's. I did buy some wine and made my $10 credit for hitting the $500 mark on wine purchases. I then couldn't decide whether to use it toward their Knob Creek SB bottling versus their Elijah Craig 18 bottling and came home with neither but that will be remedied soon.

Passed on six OFBB '06 and 8 Woodford Reserve Sweet Mash.

Again, I sometimes have a had time believing that these sit out in the wild for so long. Now granted, this was a out of the way store in a area where I wouldn't expect them to exist anyway. Plus the three, err, make that now one, bottle of Rittenhouse Rye 23yo.

You never know what you may find until to walk in the door.

Great example of price gouging!

Nah, that's just a price point that will help lower demand.

If you have people driving a 600 mile loop to find bottles and virtually every bottle that hits the shelf is snapped up with great speed, your price is too low. I think we learned that in Econ 101.

Passed up 2x Handy ($65), 2x Saz 18 ($65), 2x VWFRR ($60) found North of White Marsh/Baltimore (I was on a trip back home from NYC). It's very difficult to pass up VWFRR when I see it, but I have three bottles at home and I'm running out of space. They also had Knob Single Barrel and Knob Small Batch signed by Fred Noe, which was kinda cool. They had a bottle of Pappy 23 for 200 bucks and some ORVW 10/90 for in the mid-30's I think.

PM me if you want...

This week I've again passed by the Jeff's Presidential Select 18yo. I still have a bottle of 17yo and just can't seem to get myself to shell out the cash for the 18yo just yet. When my local liquor emporium drops down to two or thee bottles I'll finally have to break down and get one, though.

I also keep passing by the Woodford Reserve Maple and Sweet Mash. I still have some Four Grain (which I love) left and I'm trying to get through the Sonoma-Cutrer finish, so the thought off buying the Maple or Sweet Mash for more than $100 each just doesn't set well. I need to do a bit more research before picking up either.

Passed on a bottle of Old Pogue Master's Select, was at $50, on the lower side of things, I couldn't bring myself to drop the $26 on a bottle of BT, decided to wait until it goes on sale again. Just stopped in looking to see if any good bourbon's were on sale, and unfortunately none were, so I walked out with some beers instead. Will check back into a couple other stores on the hunt for a good deal.

I passed on a GTS unknown proof/vintage at $140. The store manager/owner wanted to engage me in a conversation as I walked out the door.

I thought why bother.

Saw some interesting gift boxes, but a bit too pricey to take home

- Wild Turkey 'Traditions' 14yr $99

- WT American Spirit (with box) $99

- Jack Daniels Monogram Edition $50

- JD "Old Forest" $36

Also saw some dusty old bottles of bourbon for $149 each, but I unfortunately forgot the name on the drive home :(
