Guss West
I've been making notes on a printed copy. Marking just my favorites to the relevant branches of the relevant trees. It has been an enlightening exercise to see where the juice I love best and have bunkered falls across the tree line. The only product I've tried worthy of written addition so far has been the Jacks Daniels SBBP.
Jazz June
As a Josh with small children (but not the original Josh with small children) it seems like I might be able to help out... This is my attempt to list only the regular (at least annual) in production straight bourbons from the major distilleries. I listed private selections where they are what I consider a different expression from one of the standard bottlings. I listed export only expressions if I think they are still in production. Lots of "cats and dogs" are missing (especially from Heaven Hill) so please let me know if they are still widely available somewhere, such that they are worth adding. Perhaps some of the Luxco products should be added to the Heaven Hill list as well? I have taken information from various places around the web, so I will not be insulted at all if you think something is wrong - please share. Also, any additions, corrections, whatever can make this better are welcome. One particular area where I think additional information is needed are the Barton (VOB and 1792) mash bills. Also, my minutes of research (hey I said I had small children) did not yield a clear answer on whether Old Forester Single Barrel selections carry age statements - well, one of you must know? CUfan99
Good job Josh. Should BiBs that aren’t otherwise age stated be listed as 4 yrs old rather than NAS? Just a thought.

GREAT JOB!!!! My hat is off to you, Josh! This had to be a hell of lot of work... it certainly would've been for me and my one good typing finger anyway. When I factor in the "small children" for whom I assume you bear some responsibility of care and direction... well I am left in awe! Thanx for this effort.

Just a thought. Well, all NAS straight bourbons are at least 4 years old, so my logic was that a 4 year notation is redundant, even for the products advertised or effectively marked as four years old. Also, I would hope that the $40+ BiB products are more than 4 years old. In looking at the table today, I note that the 1792 Sweet Wheat mash bill must be wrong, as it lists a standard rye bourbon mash bill. I would think the 1792 High Rye would be a different mash bill from their other offerings, but have not seen any specific information on that. I believe there is some discussion of how many mash bills the Barton distillery uses earlier in this thread, but don't recall a conclusion being reached. Also, I see the "Jime" Beam Black typo. When I talked to Barton at the Bourbon Fest last year, they stated all VOB was one mashbill and most 1792 was another, with HR and (obviously) SW having their own different mashbills as well. They wouldn't say what the general %'s were. I was a little surprised about HR - thought it might be choice barrels of the VOB bill, if VOB has a higher rye content, which they wouldn't comment on either. You also need to add 1792 Port Finish to your list, but I don't know the proof.

PowderKeg
Couple more notes on Old Forester: - "Signature" is no longer Signature, it's just "100" - "Statesman" is missing, 95 pf - your "PS" should actually be "Single Barrel", but it is commonly seen as a private selection too. Good job on the list, a real challenge to keep up with it.

Recently (April) did a tasting at HH and they gave us a chart of the various mash bills of their products, which can also be found on their website. All that being said, good job with the compilation!

Obviously they are aged differently but I wonder how much difference it would make compared to a current EW or Elijah Craig if you aged the corn whiskey mashbill in new charred oak like a bourbon.
clearmoon247
That 2% is so minimal. The char does play a huge role in the overall flavor of a whiskey

I'm shocked because I remember that Old Charter was 80% corn and I always thought "wow, that is extreme and unique in the industry". Turns out it isn't. I am also surprised to find out EW and EC AND McKenna are the same mashbill, given the differences in their profiles.

If you have enough barrels to choose from (and HH certainly does!) aged in various locations geographically as well different levels in the rickhouse, throw in barrel variability and various ages and you can end up with a pretty wide variety of profiles if you choose to do so!
