Didn't get the price or proof. I'm assuming it's about $30 (it's a 1.75 L), considering the prices of everything else in the store. It was way up on a shelf behind bulletproof plastic, and the clerk was already a bit tired of me when I saw it. Next time, though...

I passed up quite a bit today as I'm just not interest in buying like I used to be! I left behind bottles of FR 4 Grain, Sonoma Cutter, 2004, 05 OFBB, Handy 2008, Pappy 20, 23, Lot B, ORVW 10/90 , 10/107, OWA 7/107 2005, Louisville OC 8 and 10yr bottles, JDSS, ND OGD 86 1983, a couple others that are slipping my mind. Moral of the story as there is still plenty of good bourbon sitting on shelves around the country! :cool:

I'm glad I don't live in your area or I would be broke by now! Never even had OWA 7/107 and you are passing up bottles of the stuff! :bowdown:

Lonely single bottle of Carstairs White Seal. While probably a terrible bottle to begin with, with the novelty of it is gaining on me. For less than $10, it be fun to have. Complete with faux tax seal. At least it would be something that most don't have!

A fine blend of 20% straight whiskey and 80% GNS.

I imagine it will be there next time around.

So I went back to the store where the guy chased me out of wanting more money for his VWFRR. He had two bottles of ORVW 10/107 @ $44. I get to the register to pay and he says they are priced wrong and should be @ $80 and he isn't going to sell them. Never going back there again. To all the people in Michigan, don't recommend going to Tommy's party store in Richmond area.

Passed on a PHC 27 $160, I flinched but realized the 2 sitting on my shelf are still full. Bought a Handy $53, (First BTAC I have ever seen <retail) left 3-4 on the shelf for fellow SB'er to find. They also had Hirsch 28 snd 25. I also bought one and left a PHC Golden.

Four years ago I walked out of that store with a case of Stagg under my arm. It was for what was then the state minimum price. He did have a good selection of bourbon at the time and it included an overpriced Weller Centennial (Frankfort) and a OCPR (gin style bottle).

Over charging for high end bourbon seems to be the latest craze.

Already bought two a few days ago so today I passed up 6 bottles of EH Tornado at $75. This is the second or third time I've seen this stuff this weekend, must be plenty out here in CA.

Passed up a WTKS from February 2002. I've read good things about this time period, but at $55, I'd rather just read tasting reviews and imagine what it's like.

Yeah, I behaved myself today. I wanted to buy most but was really only looking for some Weller 12, OWA and Ritt BIB. The Weller stuff was easy but the Ritt was mia. I thought I found a store that had more but they already sold their allotment. I was happy to find the OWA at 19.99 and W12 at 23.99. Both of those have gone up around here a couple of times over the last few months. The W12 was $30 at cork and bottle, yikes. Need to stock up on the cheap stuff right now.

That is the one in the store I didn't ask about. It was right next to the bookers on the top shelf behind the counter at a store. I assumed it was some kind of special boomers release. If you want I can call them tomorrow to find out. It was not in the nice wood barrel looking boxes sent to Japan. It was in a box and bottle just like the bookers.

Downtown Los Angeles. Most of the stuff there was slightly overpriced but they didn't have anything I wanted except the baby Saz which was ridiculously overpriced.

That is still a nice collectors piece Fred gave a bottle of that to Beaty Jo Boone to raffle off at the BTOTY contest in 2010. I don't remember who won it.
