PaulO
I got into the have to try something new mood. While at a local grocery store buying food, I noticed the Makers 46 on sale. I thought this was just a gimmic when it came out, and hadn't bothered. It's actually pretty good, but rather pricey in the high $30s (with tax more like $40). I'm going to try and save some for guests. It goes down real easy. I still think I prefer Weller 12, regardless of price.

SMOWK
Starting out this evening with lots of OGD114. This is one of those easily obtainable bottles that is so damn good it keeps me drunk AND out of the bunker.

kyrocklover
Boss bought a couple pours of Makers 46. This bottle was much better than the one I have open at home. Of course, it could be that it was better because he paid for it.
bad_scientist
WLW 2011. Found one near me for a good price, so I thought I'd open the one I had to see if it was worth replacing. I like it a lot - lots of cinnamon, butter, and syrup. A breakfast for adults!edit: Also had a sip of the Smooth Ambler Yearling, a few days after opening. While the new wood is still strong in the nose, on the palate it's like melted buttercreams. Not complicated but really, really tasty. I like it now and I'm sure I'll love an older version. Bourbon Boiler
Opened a new bottle of Blanton's tonight. Tastes a little light, but still decent. Don't know if it's me or the bottle that's off - probably me.
m_jolley
This spring I am really enjoying Old Weller Antique and Weller 12. I usually prefer rye bourbons to the wheated.

Ejmharris
Sitting on deck after dinner enjoying a nice pour of Basil Haydens. I get the arguments about worth the price or not but IMHO it is a nice refreshing pour when you want something a little lighter. Nice sweet easy tones from this guy tonight and was just what I was looking for. If I find it at the price I got it last time (low 20's) I will get it again. mosugoji64
I agree; regardless of price, this stuff is good for what it is.Now, with a $40 price accounted for, I will always abstain. I got it as a gift, and I think I would describe it as an ideal gift bourbon: enjoyable, but not the kind of thing I would ever buy for myself.I enjoyed the sample I had, but the flavor was similar enough to OGD114 that the significant jump in price was hard to justify. If I found a bottle of BH in the low-mid 20s, it would be a good buy. It'll be interesting to see how the quality holds up now that BH lost its age statement. Enjoying this treat, while out back by the pond listening to the Braves on the radio. :yum:
