Listening to Squire and others on bunkering some great value pours and while my wife shop, I cruised around to hunt and found the following.

3 - OGD 114

1 - EWSB 2002

3 - EWSB 2001

1 - W12 since it was cheap

I'm starting to pick up some good value bourbon instead of just drinking my premium pours every day.

I picked up a bottle of Jim Beam White Label on Saturday. It's not my favorite but guests that come over seem to prefer it, so I thought I'd have some on hand. If I didn't have it, they'd probably drink my good stuff instead. The package must have been left over from the holidays as it included 2 nice whiskey glasses with it for $13.98.

Picked up some FR LE SB 2013 on my lunch break. Wish I didn't have to work the rest of the afternoon so I could try it.

Here's some nifty little numbers I picked up today.

And at less than state minimum. They clocked in at $43.95 per bottle.

If it was Buffalo Trace or Woodford Reserve these 18yo single barrels would go for a hundred per.

Very good score Oscar and I agree, other major providers would be charging large for something like and I shudder to think what a micro would try to price them.

Posted elsewhere, but I got this late last week while in Japan. 4R Super Premium. 86 proof. Good, but needs 9 more proof to bulk it up.

Got some Hirsch 25 rye and two different bottling of Willett 21 bourbon.

With the Hirsch 25 rye being the remaining stock from Medley and the PVWFRR was the only rye I can drink and like, I am excited to try it.

If I get home not too late will be opening up the Hirsch 25 Rye.

Could you share the bottle details alongside the tasting notes?

Oh, and I bought a Ritt100 and another handle of Old Crow Reserve.

I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on the 25.

Just got in and almost midnight so I will have to wait until tomorrow for a side by side with PVWFRR and THH.

As a side, on the way home swung by a store and was able to picked up another WT American Spirit. The young guy said he is willing to do $70 with tax included. I said sure that's great. Thank you.

Cheers

Hugh

sorry, not really bourbon, but grabbed these two small bottles from Koval, a distillery on Chicago's north side, at the Green City Market.

they use millet as their secondary grain in their bourbon

hope to get to their tasting room and take a tour of the distillery over the summer

Also got to watch chef Rick Bayless make a margarita in the demo tent.

Their bourbon has an interesting cupcake frosting notes, not too bad for young small barrel stuff.
