It took another price increase recently. Do you know they sell 50mls (airplane bottles) of Louis xiii?

That's correct. I was told this month it's going to go up again, from another place. I've seen some at $2750 already. This place only had the full bottle.

Shoppers Vineyard has the 50mL for $499.

Passed on 4 EC18. It was hard to let them go, really hard. Even marked at $49. Really hard. Have I mentioned that already???

But I had other item to sooth my feelings.......

Ok, I give. I went back. Picked up two of them.

By not doing so I would have broke buying rule number three. Don't hesitate, as it may not be there next time.

I just had to give the joint another look over in case I missed something else in my excitement.

Cant wait to go back next time.

Better safe now than regret later, even if it's available in the future the price can only go up.

Passed up some CEHT Small Batch for a decent price (at least, one I would pay). Is it any good? Also walked past some Jacob's Ghost. Somehow I restrained myself on that one.

Passed on the Bowman Small Batch and Single Barrel standard releases, not overly special, but the first time I've seen them gracing the shelves of an Atlanta, GA retailer. Good to see this brand here in GA.

The Bowman bourbons have recently started showing up here in NJ as well. Unlike you though, I did not pass up a bottle of the Small Batch. I figured at under $30, it's minimal risk to give the brand and profile a try. Haven't cracked my bottle open yet--maybe tonight.

On the way back from seeing a client I stopped in a couple of stores and saw an Ezra B 12 yr Single Barrel and OFBB 2010. Both were priced in the upper $30's. Don't know anything about the Ezra and I already have a couple of bottles of OFBB.

Passed on a Baker 107 white label. Never seen it before. Quite dusty.

Not really a fan of the Bowman SmB. The couple of bottles I've tasted were really astringent. I hope yours work out better than the ones I had.

I was at a bar in Baton Rouge tonight and saw AH Hirsch 16 on the shelf. I asked the price for a glass. $75 the barkeep responded. I told the bartender that it retailed for $45 and that I would take a pass.

Passed up a handle of OGD yesterday that had a different colored label than I recognized. I did a quick search on Google Images to see if I could figure out what it was but couldn't find anything. It was like a lightish brown color and appeared to be just the regular 86 proof. There was some dust on the bottle and this was a store that I had not been in before. Since I prefer the BiB, I didn't look at it all that closely. Now I'm wondering if I passed up on something special or if it was just an earlier label of the same juice.

Those labels are known to become discolored over time. I've seen white and yellow ones (that were originally orange) but not a brown one.

OK, it might have been closer to white than light brown. My memory isn't what it used to be.

Also at the same store they had some OF that were labeled Bottled In Bond. Are those the same juice as the Signature?

That'd be an older bottle, they changed to the signature mid/late 2000s, right?

Though if I recall they still do most everything required to be bonded, but its not all necessarily from the same distilling season

I would go back and get both a bottle of Forester and Grand Dad to do some tasting. You may like them well enough to clean his shelves.

4-5 bottles of WT Rye 101 @ $20 each. I'm just not a huge fan of straight rye. I much prefer it in my bourbon.

Also saw a couple of handles of OC 8yr. Louisville. I'll probably go back for at least one of those.

Wow - great price on the WT 101 Ryes. Wish Houston wasn't so far from Atlanta :)

You and me both. I'm sure it makes a great mixer but I drink everything neat. How does it compare to RittBIB?

I passed on several over priced bottles of various bourbons. However, the most notable pass was on WT Rye. I was pretty excited to see it on the shelf until I realized that it was the 81 proof stuff...grrrr.
