HH 6 year BIB white label.

ive enjoyed the FC 103 lately, and decided i needed to revisit HH 6 year BIB, if for nothing more than to see how it compares.

Henry McKenna 10yr Single Barrel BIB for $29.99. I've had plenty of HH but never saw the McKenna on the shelf. Looking forward to opening it.

How does this compare to the other HH 100 proofers (FC included?). It's usually in the $22-$24 range down here but I've never wanted to pull the trigger.

I've been waiting patiently for 4 months, finally found a single bottle of ETL that I snagged up.

Let us know what you think.

I grabbed a bottle of RHF for $45 (not bad for around here.) This will be my third attempt at trying this bourbon. The first 2 times I got bottles that were ~10 years old and had issues with the cork and were very unpleasant. This bottle definitely has the newer cork without a hole in the middle and has a bottling date of 2009. I will crack this sucker open soon and report back.

I picked up a case of W12 today. Special ordered it last weekend. My bunker is, for the most part, now fully stocked for the winter.

KC120 for $20 a bottle? Why yes, I'd be happy to take several off your hands, oddly low pricing store.

Tracked down 2 Old Forester Birthday 2013. Had to go to 3 different stores to find them. Looks like I missed the Elijah Craig 21 year release, everyone had already sold out of it. Probably a good thing considering its $$$

I know the proprietor pretty well at my local watering hole and asked him yesterday if he could order a bottle of the new OFBB for me. He checked, and said that he would have a bottle for me today. I dropped by after work to pick it up. When I got home, I looked at a little more carefully, and saw that it was another bottle of the 2012. Oh well, I enjoyed that one too.

I picked up a bottle of 4 Roses LE Single Barrel 2013 (one of two that the store received) and a bottle of Weller 12 (for $19). It was a good day.

a HH BIB gold label.

now i can do my comparison of HH gold, white, and Fighting Cock.

i think FC is pretty good, and the white is a bit too 'smooth' for me. its been a while since i tried the HH BIB's

Based upon the big praise I've been seeing for it, I went all in on 3 bottles of 2013 OFBB I saw today. $54 apiece, which isn't cheap, but which is becoming a decent price for premium bourbon. Cracked a bottle open, and what a nose. Hope to taste later.

Yesterday was a good day.

  • Two VOB BIB for everyday drinking, $14 each.
  • Four ECBP 137, $42 each. Left six on the shelf for the locals.
  • Two 2012 FR SiB LE, $67 each.
  • Two Smooth Ambler Rye, $33 each, for my brother's friend
  • One Smooth Amber Gin, $29, for the wife

JUST MISSED by a day getting two 2012 FR SmB LE, $67 each! They sold the day before.

Just missed by hours, Stagg Jr, stocked after I left one of the stores. No chance to go back as I was traveling.

(And every time I try to upload a photo, it fails, so use your imagination.)

Edit: Left on the shelf - two EC 21 at $170 each.
