OC10 for the first time ever. Really good quality whiskey. Glad I purchased the last 10 200mls they had (1.99 each) and organized to buy a case of the 200 mls when they come in from their other store. So if my math is right it will be 12.8 bottles (750 ml equivalent) of 10 year old whiskey at $7.50 a bottle. Not bad.... I've been Squired!!

I'm enjoying the awesome display of defense in the SEC championship game with a pour of Liquor Barn Henry McKenna 10 yr BIB. No mistaking this for anything but a Heaven Hill product.

Man, what a score! I started the night with a few other pours but now I am celebrating your haul with a pour of OC10!

Went to Girl & the Goat Friday night before a Champagne tasting. Sat at the bar; it's usually fun to talk to the bartenders. Had a blurry bourbon cocktail:

The bar itself is really cool--all this different metal work. Nice selection of bourbons, too:

In talking to the bartender, it's apparently technically illegal to serve barrel aged cocktails and the enforcing agency has "busted" a few restaurants. Has to do with "reusing" a container, i.e.--the barrel and having a mixed drink sitting around over 7 days. Guess you can get away with the 7 day thing by just changing the date, lol. There was one other thing, too. They're trying to change that law, I think. Our tax dollars at work. We've all heard about the mass outbreaks of disease from barrel aged cocktails int the last couple of years, right?

The bartender brought out this bottle (and gave me a swig to try); he said he was involved in choosing it. From the description, it's OBSV, aged 8 yrs 7 mos. They're also trying to change the law that would allow retail sales of such bottles equal to 10% of the total. Maybe I'll just get an empty bottle as a souvenir, since this is my absolute favorite restaurant.

Since we were just there for a quick bite, we limited ourselves to the kohlrabi salad, beet salad and I had to have the goat shank--braised then quick deep fried with house made buttermilk dressing and mild buffalo sauce (w/butternut squash shitake kimchee and naan). The goat easily pulled off the bone and was delectable (tender and lean).

Sipping some OGD BIB with a cigar on the back porch. Thermometer says 72, here.

This is the end of the bottle and I've replaced it with some OGD 114. Prefer it just a little better,

don't mind paying the extra couple bucks and can't see taking up the room for both to be open?!

I'm about to revisit the new pvt barrel of BT I picked up yesterday from a local store. I opened it late last night and enjoyed it as a nightcap. Strange as it sounds, on the nose and on the front taste I picked up a very particular scent & taste that I have only found in one other bottle in my years of enjoying bourbon & rye - Sazarac 18. It is a very distinct sensation that I enjoy very much in the Saz. In my mind, I'm finding it very difficult to ratify a connection since the Saz supposedly has a provenance with Medley/COK and the standard BT is much younger at 9-10 years.

Of course Makers only has the one mashbill but I agree Tony, not a bad blend of barrels.

Just playing along at home but Tony vatted M46 with his prior pour.

And on topic, ORVW 10/107 and ECBP(137). First one neat/Glencairn and second one on a 2" cube/rocks glass.

Pretty cold day in Indy. Waited until this evening to enjoy a pour. Watching the end of the Seattle-SF game and enjoy a 50:50 pour of WTR101 and WT101.
