After touring Dickle before Thanksgiving with my friend, GD barrel select in his honor. He has surgery on Thursday to remove his submandibular salivary gland and associated regional lymph nodes. We will have to pull out the ORVW 23 yo 114pf to toast the completion of his second surgery. Please keep Travis in your prayers tonight. Thanks again for a great community. tim

Last big pour of a 1980 Mattingly & Moore 5yo. I wasn't sure at the start of the bottle, but now I know I like it.

Enjoying some Baker's quite a bit. Even so, I buy it only on sale because it falls between the Booker's that is a few bucks more but worth it and KC SB that I also like better and costs less.

While tempting to put the last oz of OGD 114 to rest (in peace), pushed through for some GBS EC15. Damn, I need to keep this within easier reach!!

Elijah Craig 21 tonight. 21 years isn't easy to pull off in the bourbon world, but HH executed this one well. There is no doubt that it is a long aged whiskey, but it is well rounded and without a hint of it being unpleasantly over-oaked.

Old Heaven Hill Very Old and Rare 8 yr - I'm draining this handle a little too quickly. Straightforward but quality stuff ... at about 38 cents a pour, I think I can get a replacement or three ...

Cold, long day at work. Relaxing with a nice pour of EC12/ECBP. Blended it down to 120 proof. Much like the SB Blend, I enjoy this blend much more than the individual components. 120 proof Elijah Craig is pretty tasty.

Sipping some 2013 OFBB. I keep waffling on this bottle. I want to like it because if the nose but the it falls apart on the back end for me. Oh well. I only bought this one bottle this year.

amen on this. I know where 2 more bottles are that I can't bring myself to buy. It's good but I do t know if I'd take it over some other $50 bottles

What if you could get it for $35? ;) I can't say that I would willingly pay $50-$60 for it either.

Solid choices on both accounts! I have hit the ECBP 137 tonight in blends. First, 2:1 and now 1:1 with EC12/ECBP. I am enjoying it more than I have in the past.

Just be careful not to fall asleep with the glass in your hand again.

Then I'd probably let it sit til after Xmas and then I'd high tail it there for $35.

Remnants of a bottle of ETL and some Graeters Salted Caramel icecream yum.

Damn this sounds delicious right now. If only it weren't 5 degrees outside, I'd be making a run the store! :)

A few strong pours last night in honour of my Dad who passed last week. Being Canadian he was a Crown Royal guy, didn't care for Bourbon. I politely explained to him he was wrong, but still made sure i had crown in the house when he came to visit.

Had some FR sBLE '13, Willet 9yr and OGD114.
