Dang! My outlet for cheap Old Pulteney 12 ($25) had the audacity to raise the price all the way to $36. Still a bargain but disappointed in myself for not buying a case when I had the opportunity.

Oh really... I swear the one I saw was not CS. At my TW they have a large lineup of Berry's and the CS versions are mixed throughout. I recall that one not being CS but I could have been wrong. Dang, another reason to buy it now...

I think it was your Berry's Caperdonich that was a 46%'er

Thanks to a huge assist from a fellow SBer I was able to acquire a few whiskies from K&L this week as well as a bottle of some interesting and unusual rum.

Just a wee bit too much flash it would appear. Nikka Coffey Grain, Signatory Cambus, Faultline Longmorn, Bladnoch 23yo and Kilkerran Bourbon Wood (was a bit of a toss up but ended up with this one over the sherry) .

Hoping to add a Compass Box Hedonism soon to have a little grain whiskey tasting with the Cambus, Nikka and perhaps the Greenore Irish. .

Nice lineup! I grabbed that Cambus myself a few months ago along with the bourbon wood Kilkerran. I also just got a bladnoch 22 IB from specs here in Dallas, it will be my first taste of that distillery. Please let us know what you think of that Nikka, I've been eyeballing it for a while but have not pulled the trigger yet.

Someone's shopping cart at K&L looked a lot like mine from a month ago.

Your correct, though about half of the line was also 46% with the rest being CS. For some reason I remember the Mortlach being CS but with so many in a line I likely was just mistaken.

Here is what I picked up today... my poor wallet is now crying. The one on the end that got cut off is the Laddie Cuvee 407 which is the PX cask finished one, looking forward to that!

I'm a big fan of that Kilkerran - I prefer it to the Bourbon Wood. That Gaja-finished Springer is wild stuff. Kind of all over the map, but in a studied way. Exceedingly complex for a 9-year old malt.

Gahhhhh, I'm drooling over the color on that Longmorn....

Thx Zillah! I should've bought that when I had the chance - my TW is now out of that bottle. I look forward to your tasting notes.

I stopped by my TW to discover that they only had one left, so I ended up buying it. Because of my impulse control problems.

Hey, I resemble that remark!

Speaking of impulse control or lack thereof I somehow managed to come home with a bottle of Compass Box Hedonism (which I originally went to the store looking to get) as well as a bottle of Kilchoman 100% Islay 3rd Edition and this odd bottle in a plexiglass box (hmm, I wonder if it is bullet proof to protect the whiskey???).

Went by the name of "The General"!

Picked up bottle 1481 of 1698. There was a long discussion with the wife prior, and I think Aaron put it quite nicely - this would be quite intimidating if open. Glad it came in this protective plastic case!

Glad to know willpower lost out for you and Bruce. Especially after the pretasting scoffing at the price Wednesday night. Mine came home with me this afternoon.

I think the tasting did me in. I was counting on 1) being underwhelmed by it (at least for the price), and 2) never having a chance to pick one up anyways, so not something I needed to worry about. Wrong on both counts :)

Damn you all for talking this one up!

Hopefully I simply never see it in KY and don't have to make that decision.
