I'm in Columbus this weekend and didn't find anything too special but a couple bottles I haven't seen in Michigan.

John J Bowman single barrel

Lot 40 Rye (no date)

Old Scout 7

James E Pepper Rye

Kind of bought on a whim, so not sure what I got, although I've heard good stuff about JJB.

Stopped by my local whiskey monger to help him select from some samples of 1792 and McKenna BIB. The McKenna samples were superb, BTW, and I think the bottling will be very nice. Picked up 2 batch 3 ECBP's, a Barterhouse, and his recently arrived 4R OBSK.

Earlier in the day, I threw a Smooth Ambler Yearling in the cart at another store, while on a beer run.

Though I've had WT101 many many times, I've never bought a bottle of it, so I fixed that today while grabbing a SAOS 5/99 (non-rye) for a gift. Anyone had that SAOS and care to share your opinion? To my surprise, it says it was bottled in 11-11. 2.5 years later, it shows up in KY.

Also, had my first taste of McKenna BIB today, after dinner with Mrs. Fox. I can see that being a regular....

Just ordered 2 EH Taylors on a whim, hopefully at my store for pickup next week. Anyone care to inform a newb why I cant get any ECBP in my Pa? They all just pull up a keyboard like there arent any in the state...ok get some I want it. Obviously no one else in Pa pressures them so we get zero bottles, wtf?

Walked into the store with no intention of buying anything... Walked out with Barterhouse 20, Rock Hill SB, Elmer T Lee SB, BT Experimental, Smooth Ambler Yearling, and some HH6 (first time I've seen it in Seattle).

Where did you see Barterhouse and ETL locally? I've not seen Barterhouse yet and it's been ages since I've seen ETL.

Barterhouse was at Esquinn (they said it was the last one), and ETL was Wine World. They just got it in yesterday, and had a dozen or so on the shelf.

Maybe the 17, but that seems to be long gone from the market. Which is ok, as there is plenty of that bunkered.

I had my eye on the prize of rye. But it wasn't meant to be.

Thanks! I can only imagine how much the Barterhouse cost at Esquin. I really want to support those guys but their prices make it impossible to do so even with the every day bottles.

I forgot to ask where you saw the HH6. It's a good value pour I've never seen around here either.

No intention of buying anything on Saturday, but still made the walk. Booker's was 33.99 so didn't hesitiate, as I'm waiting to uncork a bottle of their 25th. Thouroughly enjoyed some of it that night side by side with Barterhouse which needed some time to open in the glass.

Should I make some effort to obtain ETL or (ETL 93) from Jersey, shipping being an expense... or wait to see if it reappears in Texas?

Went in to my usual lunchtime haunt for some OWA, which seems to be in plentiful supply again. I had to crack one open from the bunker over the weekend to make my ham glaze.

Also grabbed a RR10, which I've yet to try. I've been looking for something with a bit of a nuttier profile and I heard this may fit the bill.

Grabbed a bottle of KCSB for myself, and a WR Kentucky Derby bottle and a bottle of Absolut Texas Vodka for a friend.

Been too busy to post for a while but I picked up a couple Booker's and a couple Baker's at an amazing price. I should probably go back for more as I'm pretty fond of both of these. I cracked open the Booker's and it did not disappoint.

It was an easy on the wallet day as I got bottles of OGD114, EWBIB, and AAA10*.

But the best thing about it is that I absolutely enjoy these bourbons and would pay more if I had too.

I don't really remember specifically how I felt about the first release, but everyone should know that Old Scout (at the moment) comes from a single surplus of aging product. It was 5 years in 2011, 7 years in 2013, and should be 8 years when released later this year. There's also separate, older stock that they are using for OS Ten.

I've got an 8-year Cask Strength Old Scout (DrinkUPNY bottling) that I really enjoy.

I've also got a 10 Year that i haven't opened yet.

Based on Yeti's post, I think it's time to open it up and compare the two.
