Am still very much hooked on ER10 ATM, not the cheapest pour here but by my taste buds by far the best choice for flavour.

Here's to Buffalo Trace! :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

What's the rest of Australia drinking?...

Never had ER. Might buy a bottle today and have a glass or two whilst watching football.

Might be a bit early in the morning to drink bourbon during the World Cup.

Had a generous pour of Four Roses Small Batch last night, it is good bourbon but I believe my last bottle was better than my current one, which is unusual in a small batch.

I was drinking turkey and coke yesterday morning till about lunch. Its never too early and its actually dangerous how well it went down. I was feeling it last night though.

For us NSW folk, went to Kemps Creek today, as Christine won a bottle of Australian Whisky and Chilli Liquor in their pick the score comp on FB. I couldn't pull the trigger on anything while I was there, but she grabbed a 375 bottle of BT as she thought it was cute. Turns out its 90proof. So if anyone is looking to try full strength BT, its only 30bucks.

I am now going to sit down and slowly sip some 46.

Has anyone in Brisbane seen the 375ml bottles of BT? Have wanted one for the collection for a while now :)

The last ones I saw were at Spiros before they closed.

I'll keep any eye out for you though Cam.

well im a bit of a novice when it comes to describing bourbon. the gts and t.h.handy saz taste stronger and bigger burn even thou they are roughly same proof.

rated against them its cheaper and almost as good. 2 for the price of 1 sort of

better than 120 knob creek haven't really enjoyed that. hasnt got any better after 6mths being open :(

That's the 2012 release and I like it a lot. I call it "pecan pie in a bottle."

Went to the casino sat. night and tried ORVW 10/107. Very nice drop. bartender tried to tell me that it had rye in it " all bourbon has rye", at least he asked if I wanted ice first. Wont be buying too many more though at $22 a shot! Nice and light for an aged bourbon, quite sweet also.

Last night, had a very generous pour to finish an Evan Williams Single Barrel 2002 bottle, that was might good stuff, sill can't see myself paying $90-$100 they are currently asking for it. I really wished I had brought a lot more when it was $48 :)

I know what you mean about the Knob Creek Single Barrel, mine is still 3/4 full 3 months after opening, either I got a dud barrel or I really don't like the profile :) It has put me off trying regular Knob Creek though others say the taste is different.

I won't buy KC SB, and even swapped the ones I had for a couple of bottles of regular KC..... To me regular KC is where it's at.... lots of caramel and vanilla, light oak flavor and only a mild burn. IMO the higher proof of the SB, which produces more burn in these bottles, and the intentional differences single barrels can impart make it a less desirable bottle to buy.

Sounds like I need to find a bar to try regular KC before I buy bottle :)

I'd definitely recommend that! Easiest way to try before you buy..... after all, who wants to outlay $85 to find out you don't like something

Couldnt agree more Cam. The KCSB was too overwhelming with heat and oak, I found it hard to detect any flavors that really appealed to me.added water and it was abit better . May be im a wuss. However the subtlety of the SmlB was bliss, able to enjoy it greater without any dilution.

Id have to say the only sbs I really like so far are EW and ETL. Haven't had the privilege of 4R yet.

Have not been able to pull the trigger on anything recently. Saw a few things, but just could not justify spending the coin. Even had trouble deciding on what I wanted to drink tonight. In the end chose to open a EWSB2003 that I have had sitting around for awhile. The nose and taste is right where I like it. So now I can settle down and watch the Origin. Lets go NSW!

Is anyone from Syd going WhiskyLive on Sat? I will be there in the arvo.

WT 12 whilst watching the game. Like to see Gallen hit with a swinging arm, dirty prick he is.
