ItsJackNow
As a former OP res who greatly misses those nights at The K, I sipped some EWSB '03 while catching the last 3 innings after work. Then celebrated the win by finishing the last of my 4R 125th LESmB. She'll be missed, but perfect occasion. Go Blue!!!

tylermke
Having my first pour of the 2014 Stagg. It's fantastic based on initial impression. Certainly better than the 2013. Going to finish off my 2011 Stagg tonight by doing a side-by-side. I think the '14 will stack up nicely to the underrated '11.

Mostly good stuff, but a fair amount of grindin'...Needing some comfort, I'm sippin' PHC Blend of Mashbills. Amazing in every measurable way from nose to finish. Whiskey, perfected. Jazz Nut
A small pour of Booker's 2013-07, it's taking a while to open up in the glass, but after being on a prolonged Scotch (mostly Springbank and Longrow) kick, it's good to get back to a big flavored bourbon. The Advantage
Pinhook Bourbon. It's an MGP product, 6 years old. Pretty tasty, but not worth the price.

bmajazz
Opened one of two Baker's 107 bottles with the current label. I like it, but not enough to buy it again, even on sale for $40. But I'm glad I have a spare.
unclebunk
I know it's not technically bourbon, but I'm having some Mellow Corn and I really like this stuff.Always a nice change of pace. I love the stuff and Dixie Dew too if you can find it.
Kalessin
Kitchen construction continues. Plumbing is going at least $4k over budget, based on a rotted-out 90-year-old cast iron drain stack and the horrible plumbing hack job in the full bath upstairs when a previous homeowner renovated it. Also, when whoever it was that hung the staircase to the second floor when the house was built, they caused us to go $2k over budget to redo the support for the stairs. They cut various joists and left them unsupported so they could get the stair in the right position, resulting in a non-load-bearing wall in the kitchen bearing half the load. Brilliant!Since everything was moved out to storage from the main floor and the basement, all my bunker is in storage and the cabinet bar tightly wrapped to keep out the dust. I only have room for three bottles upstairs in my study, so it's OGD114, ETL, and Larceny, to cover the basics until we're done.Over a glass of ETL, I contemplated having no bourbon budget to speak of for a good long time. Think good thoughts for me as the electrician is coming in next week....
TunnelTiger
Last night was all 4RSB, well after a couple pours of the fantastic HW MWD rye.
393foureyedfox
over a nice dinner out with Mrs. Fox last night, I ordered a flight of OWA, Bulleit Rye, and Baker's. I'd had all but the rye before, but wanted a revisit as itd been a long time for the Bakers and OWA. The baker's was quickly determined to be the loser, as I thought I may have finally been aware of the 'funk' some guys speak of....almost herbal to me. Then, between OWA and the Bulleit rye, I think the Bulleit won out. The OWA was a bit young and punchy to me. Although the Bulleit won out, it still isnt likely to be something I run out and buy. I had been hoping they had a Dickel rye for comparison, but no dice
dSculptor
Hmmm, had me some Baker's last night almost near the bottom of the bottle, and I have to say it was damn delicious.. having a nice big pour of EC18 right now in anticipation of our trip to Lover's key, FL. tomorrow. Toes in the sand, few lines in the water, and hoping to find a decent bottle down there, to wash away all troubles that may have tagged along. Toes in the sand, few lines in the water, and hoping to find a decent bottle down there, to wash away all troubles that may have tagged along.Ironically we just got back from talking a trip to Wisconsin to see the fall colors and experience a real Autumn. If you are looking to pick up a decent bottle of bourbon while you are down here there is a Total Wine in Ft. Myers. They are going to have the best selection. ABC Liquor carries Bowman Brothers and John J. Bowman that may be hard to get in Wisconsin but their selection is very spotty from store to store. Anyway, safe travels and have a great time on your vacation.
Hop
Starting this evening with a pour of JRVO. I didn't care much for this bourbon a year or so ago when I opened it but am much happier with it tonight. Probably just me.
tylermke
Drinking some private selection High West Double Rye. This one was finished 19 months in a Four Roses barrel. Tons of green apple and pear notes. It is fantastic drinking!
