Went back to the D9 after hanging out with the ryes the past few days. Sure is different....the force, i.e. Fred Flintstones vitamin note that many encounter (iron in the water?) and corn flakes, is strong with this one.

Poured a big helping of PVW 15. Wife went into labor 7 weeks early and needed something to pick me up. Wife and baby are good and the little one should be here soon. Fingers crossed.

I was supposed to have taken my board exams 1.5 weeks ago, but a freak storm knocked out power to the testing center and I had to postpone the pain until tomorrow. I'm relaxing tonight with a hefty pour of Blanton's. No matter how I feel about it at 4pm tomorrow, I'm stopping to reward myself with a bourbon spending spree at the liquor mart on my 2.5 hr drive home, after which I will be settling down to celebrate proper after the little one goes down! Cheers gentlemen!

Started the night with a SBS of the foreign stuff (Balvenie 12yo Doublewood and Balvenie 16yo Triple Cask), now I've pulled a 180 and am enjoying a GS OESK.

Not bourbon, Yamazaki 12 at a company party. Never tried Japanese whisky so I opted for this over JBW and Bulleit.

Having my first glass of ECSB, nice and hot on the start and stays warm on the long finish. Clearly the nose and flavors of EC12 so it stays true to the brand. Very enjoyable.

Looks like I'm the only one drinking tonight...[emoji294]️. Changing over to wheat with Parkers Heritage but sticking with the high proof.

Found I forgot to empty my micro flask (1 oz stainless), which I filled with GBS OBSK at the KBF. Corrected the injustice with the nearest glass :yum:

Enjoying a generous pour of a Rutledge gem GS OESK 15 yr from an equally generous SBer. Thanks Dr. Gonzo!

Nothing spectacular but finished off a bottle of WTKS. I really liked it. Moving on to a pour of SAOS. Not large pours but relaxing on a Tuesday night.

RR Small Batch 10-year old followed by Stagg Jr. Didn't like the RR the first time around, so giving it another shot.

Poured some 14 year George Dickel store select. Not bad, even over an ice sphere. Reminds me a little of Four Roses with less rye spice. I'm glad I was able to split a bottle with a friend, $70 + tax is a bit much when I can get a OBSK Four Roses PS for $60 + tax and enjoy it even more.

How are you liking that new Parker's. I haven't cracked my bottle yet but I honestly can't wait. But I am waiting to use it as a celebratory bottle for my new baby son graduating from the NICU and finally being able to come home.
