passed on PHC malt on my search for BTAC today. no BTAC tho...

Seems like a lot of people are passing on it. Was it price, reviews, or just low expectations for the Malt whiskey that made you pass?

Passing on the PHC9 @ $97.99 . . . price, and just not that interested.

pretty much the reasons stated above. and for $100 I can get a few bottles of other things that I'd probably enjoy more. If it were the wheat I had come across instead I probably would've gone for that. Malt, not so much...

Yesterday, I stopped at a liquor store I'd never been to before. I was mainly just checking to see what's out there because I really don't need any more bourbon. I passed on everything but a SAOS 7 yr. The store we stopped at was a nice store, and had a good selection, but their prices were a bit high. Below is a list of a few items they had. :skep:

Weller 12-$39.99

OWA-$39.99

EC12-$31.99

ER10-$37.99

Blanton's-$67.99

Rock Hill Farms-$64.99

Willett 10 yr old (?) Rye-$199.99

Passed on Stagg Jr. for $49. I might give it a try one day. Have enough ECBP & EHTBP bunkered, and really enjoy them.

Beats the price of Stagg Jr. In my area. Lowest I've seen it was $53 but usually closer to $60

$49 would definitely be the lowest I've seen.

Passed on some ECBP #7 128 proof for $48.99.

Did you pass because you don't like it or you have enough? That's a good price - best I've seen in a while.

Yeah, I know. Great price but I have one open and two in the bunker. Typically, in my area, this bottle goes for $60-90.

My local LS had 3 bottles of Stagg Jr. $70. So far, I'm passing.

I've never had the Jr, and I am reluctant to spend that kind of money on an unknown product with shaky reviews.

I think the later batches have been pretty solid. Still, should be closer to $50, than $70

Went to lunch at a place that had some VW stuff and a the BTAC ryes. Pretty uncommon around me.

Passed on everything principally since I have to continue to work today, but also since prices seemed just a bit high. They have the VW Rye listed as a 13 year bourbon.attachment.php?attachmentid=21670&stc=1

I passed on one of the new batch recently here in MI for $70 since state min is $50 and I had batch 2 and 3 at home. A few weeks later I grabbed a batch 4 for ~55 or 56.

Passed on Stagg Jr. Batch 4 (which I love, but already have a few), but also passed on what must be Batch 5, 129.7. I'd like some feedback on the 129.7 before I pick one up.

Passed on Noah's Mill for $50. I thougt it was the 15 year age stated bottled because it had a wax top. But no age statement to be found.

Those prices are a bit crazy. I'd have passed too.

The age statement went away years before the wax did.
