ER10 is one of my fave value pours. It has ample amounts of that classic Buffalo Trace desert notes and cherries presented at a perfect Proof.

ER10 has always served me well. Sometimes I get a big butterscotch groove going with it, very nice.

My situation with ER10 is that I already have several of the BT mash bill #1 products: EHTBP, EHTSmB, EHTSiB, OC8, GTS, SJr and a few BT Single Barrel Selections. So, as I'm standing there a little voice says, "Do you really gotta have this?"[/quote

Feel the same way a lot of times. I just pick a couple from the BT mash bill #1 that my palate prefers and stick with em!

Any time I run across a store selected bottle of ER10, I grab it. At under $30, it's always money well spent.

I recall doing a SbS of standard BT with ER10 and not being able to taste much of a difference so I lean towards bunkering more BT, but it didnt stop me from grabbing an ER10 a month or so ago with 5 or 6 BT in the bunker. It is a great bourbon for $30.

They are sure pretty similiar. I think ER10 has a ramped up flavour profile though, clearly more age (nice dryness on the finish) and non of the cut grass flavours I get from BT that can at times be a little annoying.. So for 10 Euro more I prefer ER10.

Passed on PHC9 @ $120.

Heaven Hill, if you are listening, can we please please please get a rye for PHC10? That is all.

Only if they started working on it 10 plus years ago.

Elmer T Lee--199.00

Elmer T Lee Commemorative--299.00

-Mike

I passed on an Elmer T Lee behind the counter today for $149.99 and thought that was crazy...good think I just picked up 3 bottles over the past few weeks for under $30 a piece! They had an Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year for the bargain price of $499.99 as well, I just started laughing at that point.

All too familiar. Like ETL commemorative for $499.99.

This one takes the cake though. Last week, stopped by a shop that had ORVW 10 for $699.99 and Lot B for $599.99. Huh?

Passed on RHF @ $45 and FRSB PS OESQ @ $63

I'd take all the RFH I could find at $45. I love RHF, prices around me lately have been $60+.

Ditto, it is $50 here when you can find it.

Hmm, I've never actually tried it. Been thinking about it for a while. Maybe I'll go back tomorrow if $45 is a good deal.

I found 5 last year at $38/btl. Bought 3 Left 2. Walked into another store a few days later and the guy wanted $80. He tried to tell me "You have never tasted anything this good". I laughed about it and never went there again. Still haven't got around to them. I will open 1 this weekend to see what all the talk is about.

The answer is "Of course you do!". We're enablers around here. Seriously though, given that you have everything else from the BT lineup (including some pricey ones from the EHT subset), you owe it to ourself to try ER10 to see how it stacks up. It may just make you question future EHT purchases.

Ha! And yes, it's on my list to try the next time I see it on a whiskey list.

I'd buy a case at that price, as it's in the $50's here...

Just went to a shop that had it for $150 lol. ETL for the same price and Weller special reserve for $50.

Passed for today on bargains/staples: JW Dant ($10), EWBiB ($15), EC12 ($25), KC ($25). ER10 ($29), 4RSiB ($38), Bookers ($44)

I know I can't hold at out and that at least a couple of those will follow me home - after all, the holidays are coming. But I thought I would do a little more hunting first.

Those are all great prices, especially the KC and Bookers.
