I passed on this as well last week. Only here it was $215.... :|

Was that the Select in the gold/brown tube or the Limited in the black tube?  I guess it only matters to determine how much it was over MSRP.

I bought a bottle of the Select since I attended a tasting ($20 entry fee but you get a $20 store credit voucher) and wanted to explore the bottle a bit more.  It helps Limestone Branch financially plus it felt like I only paid $30 for the bottle, due to the aforementioned voucher.

It was the select in the gold brown tube. The Limited was $360...

Holy smokes.  (Thinks immediately of the "...whether the boom has peaked" thread and replies with "I guess not.")

Remember that he's in the UK so that's a factor in the price.

Whilst this is true, I think these were imported by an individual rather than a distributor and they set the price.

And whilst UK prices are most definitely high, to give it some context both of these were priced higher than the latest BTAC release at retail...

Was out of town on business yesterday, stopped in a store that actually had a pretty good selection.  A boatload of handles of EC, with the "12" on the front, for $52,99.  thought that was a pretty good deal, but I have enough stashed away that I didn't feel compelled to buy.  Multiple bottles of ER and some Blantons on the shelf - neither would have been noteworthy a year ago, but getting rarer lately, so good to see (again, I have enough in the bunker).

SOOO many! I was in the States a day ago and salivated over the bourbon section. Gotta stay longer next time so I don't get slammed with duty charges. Was contemplating RR10, RR6, JR Ocean, JRSmB, Foraged Oak, Rowans Creek (kinda), Corner Creek (kinda), ECBP and AE. Got so distracted that I didn't even look at the ryes. Ended up getting ECBP and AE for a mix up and it was pretty cheap.

I came across some gems while hunting through various stores.  However, due to the price I had to pass them up although I absolutely would have loved to add both to my bar at or closer to msrp.  2014 Four Roses Limited edition small batch for .....................$325.  Also, I came across a really beautiful Angel's Envy 2014 cask strength in it's gorgeous packaging for..................$345.  Um. no.

I was in Bloomington yesterday, and my word did I pass up a bunch of stuff.  The most disturbing was fake flavored "moonshine" in the same sort of can I'm used to seeing for paint thinner or solvents. Then there was a bunch of NDP stuff: Calumet, Bird Dog, Cooper's Mark (never saw that before), Kentucky Velvet, and many others.  There were several Smooth Amblers, but way more expensive than Indy.  Not a single Weller product to be seen.  Thank goodness for HH 6 year bond; did not pass that one up. ;)

Luekens Liquors in Tarpon Springs, FL had 5 bottles of BARTERHOUSE at $89 each - I passed.

I was in Burbank and they had a few "rare" bottles.  Passed on: GTS 2015 ($500), WLW 2015 ($400), and Elmer T. Lee ($99).  Can't afford the GTS and WLW and I have a hard time paying a 300% price jump.  At least I can say I saw the bottles in person...

Almost forgot, while down South I also passed all the JB Signature Crafts and some BT Single Oak experiments.  Big money for 375ml bottles.  I think the prices ran around $45 for the JB and $60 for the BT.  To me, that's crazy.

It is rather painful but if you have a curiosity about whether any of it makes a lick of difference, and given there is no option for a larger bottling with either of those, it is the price you have to pay in the interest of science! B)

That said I managed to acquire them all but have yet to crack them and get all scientific on them...

The price of the Beam Harvest collection was not that much different from a PHC bottling these days although typically at a bit less proof but it helps a little to remember these are all reasonably well aged 11yo bourbons. Well, it helps me anyway...

A store near my work got 4 bottles of WTMK in. I am still holding out, though I really want to give it a try.

It should stay on the shelf a while. The Diamond is still on the shelf there.

the WT special releases don't seem to get much love as they seem to be the only ones I can find on a regular basis collecting dust on the shelves.  I've seen diamond marked down to $99 and was definitely tempted, but still passed on it.

There is yet another WT Masters Keep expected soon. I wonder if it too will be keeping the previous ones company on the shelf. It is called "Master's Keep Decades".

A blend of 10 to 20yo bourbon. Sounds like maybe some of that older master's Keep bourbon didn't fare to well and needed some help from blending with younger bourbons! Of perhaps they just don't have much of the older stuff. Or both! Otherwise I can't figure out why Campari wouldn't just put out a 20yo and charge two arms and a leg for it.

Given this seems likely to have more 10yo than 20 in the bottle it will be interesting to see what the "MSRP" is on it.

I was just looking at the label using the link you supplied.  Are they permitted to say "aged 10-20" years on the label?  I thought only the age of the youngest whiskey could be put on the label if an age is stated.

Maybe they will remain on the shelves of liquor stores for decades.  One thing about living in Indiana nowadays, anytime I see LE stuff like various WTs or Orphan Barrels sitting around, I know the big cities and both coasts have enough or have decided to pass.

$149 is the MSRP.  Just like the original MK

That is a rule for whisky in Scotland (and maybe Ireland?) but not the case for American whiskey.

I like seeing the proof at 104, but an MSRP of $149 will keep me on the sidelines again unless a bunch of you guys and trusted reviewers like sku try it and declare it to be transcendent.

Oh, who am I kidding, all it will take is for Joe to post one of his eloquent reviews and I'll be hard pressed to suppress the itch.

Yeah, I will no doubt roll the dice on at least one, with or without Joe waxing eloquent!
