Enjoying a three finger pour of W12 this evening.  I think this bottle is from '13 and I'm getting a really light coffee note on the end of the nicely balanced finish.

If it was earlier in the evening and I hadn't already cast my lot for the night, I'd have given in to your power of suggestion. I'm already committed to a cult path this evening though. Started with standard Single Barrel, then a Bourbon Crusaders PS OBSV (which is far superior to the standard Single Barrel), and now an OBSQ.

Having a few pours of JTS Brown. I love these BIBs from Heaven Hill.

Solid bourbons at excellent prices.  I should have a pour of Dant BIB after work today! :)

Weller 12 for me as well last evening.  Always a favorite for me.  Followed up with Glenfarclas 12.

Ahhh, Boss you are indeed living the good life!

For me?   A generous pour from a low-fill bottle (that I'll possibly kill off this afternoon/evening) of EWSB '05.    Not the best one of the '05 Vintage I've had; but a very nice pour, and extremely easy to sip straight.

Drinking this in celebration of finally getting an MRI on my injured left hand.    Now, maybe I can get a diagnosis, and have some effective treatment.    Hope, Hope......

Not impressed. Less of the family resemblance, but not worth the price of admission.

I've always loved EC12, but never considered it mellow or smooth. I loved the heavy wood kick in the face. Well, tonight it was smooth. Granted, I started the night with a flying dog raging bitch, then a beck's dark and a decent pour of ETL. Something about that combination and the EC12 is tasting mellow. Still getting the wood-forward but it's a nice smooth sip and I am really enjoying it.

Barrel Bourbon batch 006 paired with a nice Ashton.  It is a good Friday night.

Started the night with a comparison between ECNAS and EC12.  I just can't pick out a big difference.  I kinda got more wood from the EC12 and felt like there was a bit more astringency to the NAS, but that totally could be in my head, or it could be because the NAS bottle is freshly opened while the 12yo bottle was on its last couple pours.  In the end, I do like the NAS, and I suspect it will be even better after it's been open a little while.

After the comparison, I finished off the bottle of EC12 and now have cracked open my first bottle of SAOS10 SB CS 103.6pf.  Letting it air out a few minutes first, so I haven't had a sip yet, but I'm anticipating it being really tasty, as most SAOS SB's have been.

Drinking some Stagg Jr. batch 2 / ER10 blend.

The past few weeks I was drinking a Stagg Jr. / OC8 blend. In my laziness, I didn't confirm which Jr. blend I had and realized too late that it was batch 3 which shines on it's own and doesn't need a BT Mash #1 blending agent. I found the bottle of batch 2 that I had (thought this was what I had open before) and tried it first with a bit of water. Nope. Went to grab the BT (because I finished the OC8) and realized it was a single barrel store pick. Don't want to use that for blending. I have a handle of BT. Don't want to open that without a 750 empty to decant into so I figured, what the heck, let's try some ER10 in this blend. YES. This works.

AAA 10 Star is really hitting the spot tonight - sometimes, you don't need to spend a lot of money to have an enjoyable pour of quality bourbon!

A little WLW 125.3 this morning.   To ease the sadness of The Greatest passing.

A pour of a new mingle: larceny:4rsmb @ 1:2 (quite tasty) from the fridge with a rock, then a couple from the cabinet with a rock (damn summer time making me dilute my pours): cehtsmb, then the last ounce of cehtsmb with another half ounce of one of my fave mingles bt:staggjr @1:3 to make up the standard 1.5 oz jiggers I pour for 100 proof or less.  If I have another it will be from my last pours decanter.  Your guess is as good as mine as to what is in that anymore, but I like the taste and ball park it in the low 90's as I never pour barrel proofers into it other than ogd114.

Went to see Mark Chesnutt tonight in concert, so I brought some 4R OESK in with me (200 ml).

Sounds like a great Friday night. An Ashton with anything makes for a great time.
