Yea if I don't like it, it becomes a mixer or something.  I let the salesman talk me out of Knob Creek and into the Tin Cup.  We shall see if I messed up or not next week or there abouts.  The second row is Eagle Rare 10 and Sauza Hornitos, it's Margarita season.

Darwin, was that basic KC at MSRP?  The stores around me, bless my incredible luck at living here, have been selling KC @ $22 plus tax on and off for most of this year.  When one stops selling at a "sale" price, another starts up.  In other words - keep an eye out - the KC may come around again.

Yeah, basic KC at anything less than $25 is a great price!  A few Indy area retailers offer a 10 -15% discount when you purchase six or more bottles of spirits/wine.  I have taken to allowing my wife to buy a few bottles of wine so that I can get the discount on bourbon/rye.  I am a nice guy like that. ;)

Typically, KC runs around $25-27 in the Indy area.

Harry the KC was $33 - $5 coupon at Bevmo.  We don't get many sales here, TW&M usually has the best prices ($30 for KC) and they seem to only discount the "Dealer Direct" items.  Every now and then a grocery store will have something at a decent price. Fry's Foods has Glenmorangie for $65...

Costco will occasionally get a case or two of a big name brand expression and discount it $10 to $15 per bottle, they have Oban 14 and Lagavulin 16 on offer now.  I'm in no rush, I have more than I need as it is...  but I'm sure to add a KC to my collection in the near future.  ;)

Finally found Fighting Cock, so a bottle came home with me.  Not the best bourbon I have ever had, but, it does what you want it to do.  I will buy more.

Tin Cup is a brand that sources their whiskey from somewhere else.  There are a lot of brands nowadays that don't make anything.  That doesn't mean it's good or bad product.  You are paying for the fancey package and all the middle men involved.  I've noticed sales people pushing this stuff too.  There must be a bigger profit.

All liquor stores are closed today in Massachusetts in honor of Memorial Day.  But other retail stores, including grocery stores, are open - go figure.   ^_^

Could be worse.  Texas law doesn't allow liquor stores to be open on Sundays...

I found Florida to be confusing.  Stores in some counties can sell liquor on Sunday while others can't.  The problem is the state website didn't clearly identify which counties.  Further confusing things was that beer and wine could be bought at retail groceries on Sunday.  However, it wasn't clear if this was all counties or just certain counties.

I did a little more stocking up today.  I bought a CEHT SmB ($36.50), HMK 10 ($27), and EC NAS ($22).  All were decent prices for Indy. I got a discount because my wife bought wine and liqueur.

Took our annual trip to the Indy 500 through Cincinnati, so we made our usual stop at the Party Source.  Actually wound up buying more beer than bourbon, I work for a Cincinnati company and have been impressed with all the Cincinnati breweries like Mad Tree and Rhinegiest.  That said, grabbed a couple of lower proof 4 Roses barrel proof selections, an OESK and an OBSF.

I visit family in Cincinnati every year. A Rhinegeist Truth IPA is always one of the first things I seek out.

I'm a big fan of Hustle and Cougar.  I really enjoyed Fiction, but per their website, it was a limited release, so I was disappointed not to be able to buy more of it.  I did buy the pilsner to try, Puma, so I'm interested to see how that drinks along with a one off Wit (Spike) they did.  Really enjoy their stuff, if you get a chance, head up to the brewery, they have a cool environment to enjoy their stuff.

Visited a shop across town today that I don't get to very often and found some OF Signature for $23.99 so I snagged a bottle.

ECBP has been popping up here the last couple weeks and I managed to grab one today to add to the ones I have tucked away. Just couldn't say no at $49.99.

Went to get and MM46 for a co-worker today, and was going to get a 1.75 OWA, but saw an Orphan Barrel Forged Oak for 54.  Made a game time decision to go with the Forged Oak, for now the OWA is fairly readily available, and haven't seen the forged oak but once, at a much higher price.

Cheers all!

Jealous! Let's say you overpaid, just to make those of us who can't get those feel a bit better. :)

Picked up a few bottles of Maker's Cask Strength, and a bottle of Baby Saz.  I'm really liking the Maker's Cask strength.  Head and shoulders above the base expression or the 46.  Yum.

Managed to find a bottle of 1792 Full Proof yesterday. Was a little surprised to see it out already but happy to find it a home.

Tell us all how it strikes you!    This is one for which I have very high hopes/expectations.    Hoping to find it soon in Michigan.

After continually seeing the same stuff on the shelves over and over, one oddball store had this out and it caught my eye. A quick search on some of my favorite review sites gave it very positive reviews so I bought it. Along with a EC12 (red 12) at around $32.

Haven't shopped (or posted) for a few weeks.

My 13 year-old Samoyed passed away on April 14th. A few weeks after that, we got a new puppy (yes, I'm a glutton for punishment...).

Anyway, finally got to visit my store of choice a few days ago.

Picked up a couple bottles of their Knob Creek selection, along with KC 2001.

Also grabbed a handle of their 1792 barrel selection, the third release of Rhetoric (22 yo), and a 9 yo SAOS SB Rye.

I'd say I jumped back in with both feet!
