Passed up a bottle of Barterhouse at 85.99 and Rhetoric at 89.99. Went 5 miles down the road and passed on Rhetoric again, this time at 129.99. Snagged a bottle of BT for 23.99 at the second spot.

Passed on a bottle of Michter's Barrel Proof Rye @$75.  I imagine that is the typical price but it is a little too high for me.  I didn't look at the proof.  I just wasn't sure where it came from and I can find BP ryes or close to BP ryes that I enjoy for $45 to $65.

I also passed on the chance to purchase an OKI 9 year antique finish bourbon for $59.99.  This one is MGPI and sounds interesting. I have an interest in New Riff offerings and this is the first that I have seen or heard of in Indy.  However, it is "only" 100 proof.  It may be stellar at 100 proof but I can find really good SAOS BPs for $50.  If it was a BP, I might have been more interested.

Passed a wt Kentucky spirit and wt rare breed 112.8 today. Both were at 39.99. Any thoughts as to which to snag tomorrow? I'm thinking of heading back.

I like both.  I believe WTKS is a little drier and less hot.  Of course, it is lower proof.  Is that the normal price for both or is WTKS on sale?  Normally, WTKS is more expensive. In Indy, WTKS is normally in the mid to upper $40 while WTRB is normally in the mid to upper $30s.  If WTKS is on sale and you can save a few bucks, I would opt for WTKS.  If that is the normal price, I would probably opt for WTRB.  Most people I know prefer WTRB both from a taste and value perspective.

The place that had the WTRB also had a RRSB store pick I think for $52. . . . wondering if that's worth the extra cash?  Then I start thinking I should just spend it on a 1.75 of OWA, haha.  need to water the money tree.

passed on Yippee Ki-yay Rye twice this past weekend at $60 and $70.  just can't do it at that price even if it is MSRP.

Passed up a 2004 EWSB at $28.99 but I may stop on the way back home to get one.

Also passed on WTRR 10 which seemed underpriced at $24.99.

Passed on some ECBP because my local had it priced at $65 instead of the usual $50 or so.. I'm just not that into ECBP

My favorite, in order, are RRSB, WTKS, WTRB. Having said that, given the prices you mentioned, at $39.99 Kentucky Spirit would be the one I would go back to purchase.  The one caveat would be if you don't like "oaky" bourbons then you might not be a big fan of Spirit.

But if you live in Tulsa, methinks you can find RRSB for a lot less than $52 if you just shop around. You should be able to find it in the low 40's there. That would be my top choice :)

The store pick was 47, so I went that route. Just cause I haven't seen a store pick before. I have seen rrsb in tulsa foy 40.99 though. That should scratch my WT itch for a bit.

Passed on KC 2001 @ $154, Jeffersons Wood Experiment Box @ $101, JB Distillers Masterpiece @ $189, and ECBP @ $63... I was tempted a little on the KC 2001, but I've got a couple KCSB Store Select bottles bunkered away and I couldn't imagine the 2001 being $120 better! The ECBP tempts me but I already picked up a bottle of that a couple weeks ago.

1792 Single Barrel for $37.   Also there was plenty of Woodford White Corn for around $45 that seems to be staying on the shelves in droves.

I passed on a Gifted Horse for $70. Reviews are just all over the map for me to go there especially at that price, but I did like the label

Out of town for Father's Day weekend so I stopped by a Total Wine. They had 2 full cases of Rhetoric 22 sitting there for $149.99. Easy to pass up at that price.

I think I must be starting to approach bourbon zen. Two different local stores had in person drawings today to purchase some LEs they held back from the fall, and I didn't go. Didn't even feel at all motivated to go.

It just doesn't seem worth the effort sometimes.  It is cool when you find something or fall into it but scratching, clawing and digging gets old.  My wife and kids offered to buy me whatever I wanted from the liquor store today for Father's Day and I opted for Pikesville, Ritt BIB and EC NAS.  I preferred these over several more expensive and highly sought after options.

WM had Jim Beam White label on clearance for $6+ per 750 ml.  Still not interested at that price.

I've paid more for 750ml of water at a baseball game.  Take a shot.  Don't try it neat, but 50-50 with Coke and ice OR 2 oz. JBW to 4 oz. apple sauce you can't go wrong.  50 years of legal drinking says so.

EDIT - Oh, and it comes in 50 mls and 200 mls, too.    Maybe if it's on sale . . .
