Shifted to a local OBSK pick, and then to some GBS KCSB while I bake more bacon for a larger infusion.

In this order. 1792 small batch single barrell select was ok not as great as last time. ECBP as always never dissapoints, loaded with flavor. Just poured an OWA which I'm looking forward to..... Haven't had one in a few months.

Having a MM46 as I type this.  Smooth wheat goodness on a mellow corn body.

First pour in a few weeks.  Had to avoid alcohol due to a specific antibiotic that notoriously reacts with it.  It was difficult this week since I had to put down my 17 1/2 year old beagle.  I was anxious to have a pour to celebrate her life.  I finally opened a bottle of SOAS 10 year SB, 101.2 proof.  It was a little more hot and less flavorful than I had hoped for but it did make me feel better.  I will do it up right tomorrow with something a little more suitable for the occasion.

17.5?!  Wow.  Sorry for your loss, putting down our lab when she was 6.5 was the worst day of my life.

Poured out about 2-ounces of Maker's 46 over a small cube to help me think while trying to understand the directions for assembling a new work bench.   (Said directions seem to be printed in a combination of Greek, Chinese and Bantu, although, full disclosure; I probably wouldn't recognize Bantu in writing, only be ear.)   HA!

You know when I have this problem I ask my wife to put it together.  She is able to de-construct things in her mind and just puts these types of things together so easily it embarrasses me.  She uses no directions.

My wife and I are the same way actually.  I just can't "see" how it goes together like she can.  It's definitely depends on how all of our brains our wired.  So she gets it going and then I close it out with tightening screws and whatever other 'muscle' is involved.

Dave, You, sir are a lucky man!    If I'm a moron when it comes to this sort of stuff (I am); my wife actually defers to my limited skills, and claims she can't do any of it.   More's the pity.    I did get a beginning made, and will possibly finish tomorrow.... without the 'help' of my bride.

This morning I had a nice pour of WLW 125.3.  I love those wheated bourbons in the morning.

I am keeping a bacon-infused bourbon on-hand, primarily for one cocktail (a Suckling Sour - a take on a whiskey sour but with a bacon-infused bourbon).

Finished off the last of an OBSK this afternoon (while straining the hell out of said bacon-bourbon).

Tonight's celebration went a lot better.  We finished her gravesite along an area in the yard that she enjoyed hanging out.   Many of us have lost loved pets so the experience is not foreign.  This is the third dog we have lost over the years, all of which lived to be relatively old.  Our last dog lived to be over 16 years old.  However, this dog was special for many reasons and, even given her age, her decline and passing came quickly.

We celebrated her life with some quiet time and a nice pour of Blanton's.  The choice of Blanton's was perfect because it is a great bourbon and this barrel is a really good one.  She used to sit with me while I enjoyed a pour of bourbon and we often "shared" a pour of Blanton's.  The memories are good and so was the bourbon.

@mbroo5880i I am so sorry for your loss.  I have felt this pain many times through the years with the lost of my buddies.  The pain is real.  I'll tip one in her honor tonight.

Thank you, Dave!  I have tipped a few tonight myself.  I thought I was going to watch a football game but I guess that will come next week.

OGD BIB yet again.  Whoa, boy -- I am in a rut.  And I don't mind a bit.

It's raining down south tonight. Listening to some old country while putting a weight bench together. Also sipping on some very good OS7 that a friend recommended. This batch definitely has some age to it & is hitting the spot.
