b1gcountry
Celebrating my 66th Birthday with Four Roses today. There is every possibility that a couple more pours of something is coming later. Cheers all. I've done a lot of living and I am a blessed man. Looks like an 8 rose night Are you going to go for the dozen?
Tennessee Dave
@b1gcountry LOL. Actually I called it quits after these two pours. I have had the LE's of both of these bottles but had never tried the regular releases of either. For the price point I think they are both excellent. Both have earned a spot in my cabinet. Harry in WashDC
A store pick Blanton's - yeah, store pick. It's as creamy as a vanilla flavored Bonomo's Turkish Taffy, as spicy as a mild red-hot (if there is such a thing), and as long lasting as a Sugar Daddy. Well, its finish is long lasting; it sure doesn't stay in my glass for very long. EDIT - paid a little more than for "regular" Blanton's here, but I've liked what these guys have picked in the 4R line so took a chance on this one. I was not disappointed. b1country - nope, don't look like the guy on OGD - he has more hair. Edited August 5, 2016 by Harry in WashDC
Masset1982
Today, PHC 8 2nd batch. Generally, I drink my bourbon neat, but this one is hot, a few drops of water helps to cool it down. After that, it's an awesome whiskey. Cheers !
beasled
Smooth Ambler 8 year SB. Quite high rye, very spicy but with a sweet finish. Almost like a higher proof ETL. Cheers all!

I own a lot of LE's and have been known to bust them out on a Tuesday night, but most nights I'm drinking regular bourbons that anyone can buy. Tonight I'm drinking Henry McKenna 10yr BIB. I'm half way through the bottle and this is the first time it's tasted good. Single barrel variation being what it is, I had chalked this one up to being from a barrel that didn't suit my palate. Perhaps the air exposure has finally changed it, or, I'm having a bad palate night that has the opposite effect of making a bourbon I don't like taste good. (Kind of like opposite day). flahute
Fascinating discovery tonight. I'm drinking some OGD114 for the first time in a while (from an already opened bottle) and am getting some remarkably similar notes to the Booker's 2016-01 that I currently have open. Did some of the OGD yeast sneak into the Booker's mash for this batch? Doubtful, but it is strange that I'm getting some of the same flavors. Richnimrod
Really enjoyed the Booker's I opened for the first time yesterday. (Toogie's invitation) Very "Booker's", if a bit sweeter than some have been. A wonderful pour, as Booker's usually is for me. Drank about 1.5 ounces neat over about an hour and a half waiting out the heat of the day, and approaching storms, which never really hit our area. Still an enjoyable afternoon. ...Then I cut the lawn, which is to say; 'I cut the sections where the weeds show up as the only green and tall stuff to cut'. Ha-Haaa. Hey, I've been really enjoying this JTS Brown BIB. Either I've reached my bourbon zen, or I'm some sort of unsophisticated hill billy, maybe both. I sort of get the donut flavor since Steve mentioned it. Take notice those that put bourbon in morning coffee.

kcgumbohead
OWA midweek then onto OGD BiB this afternoon, different pours both but stellar in their own right. Many thanks to SB and GBS Jimmy for opening my eyes to the wonder that is OGD ( even if Jimmy doesn't recall, it was rather deep into a GBS EVENT) Both the 114 and BiB have a place with me and provide so much satisfaction ( along with some others, I am a card carrying member of the cult after all LOL!!) I am content to let the LE hunters have their day(s) whilst I happily take my BIBs and assorted every days to the register. That said I plan on securing a MWND this season ( I know I stated otherwise in a previous post but I reserve the right to change me mind) so where was I???? Oh yes enjoying some OGD this splendid GA afternoon. Slainte all!! Edited August 6, 2016 by kcgumbohead
