I haven't purchased a bottle yet (though I do have a Double Oak), but every time I fly Delta and get a WR I think to myself that it's time to buy another bottle.

I'm just thrilled airlines have finally presented us another option besides JD

One of my favorite things about flying Southwest is consistently having WT101 available.

You know Joe, when I first joined this board about 3-4 years ago, I thought that WR wasn't worth the price given all the bourbons you could get (that I thought were as good or better) for less. Funny thing happened though. Most of those other bourbons have crept up in price whereas WR has basically stayed the same. It's presenting as a value almost at this point. I haven't purchased a bottle yet (though I do have a Double Oak), but every time I fly Delta and get a WR I think to myself that it's time to buy another bottle.

I could not agree more.  The ugly specter of copious amounts of flashy NDP made up storyline offerings on the shelves have resulted in both WR and MM moving into the value category, by the fact that their prices have remained relatively stable.  Even comparing to other majors, WR and MM pricing has remained flat.

In the not so distant past, you could call both 'high end' brands, due to their respective marketing, pretty labels and above average price point.  To date, both remain readily available, and both continue to (by far) be the top selling bourbons in this market (central Ky)!

Just an all around sh*tty week at work.  Trying to turn things around for the weekend.  Did my SBS OWA/OWA Private Selection from Bayway.  Quality pours both, but the Bayway barrel is if anything a bit "lighter" with a touch more of that orange essence I just love.  Pairing beautifully with a Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout and an Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Robusto.  Bayway sold out of its private barrel in less than a week even limiting purchases to one per customer.  While out of my way, I managed to snag two bottles at $27.99/bottle before tax.  Hanging with my dog and listening to Steely Dan.  Getting better already...

You have talked me into opening A bottle of GI Bourbon Barrell Stout after 3 Healthy pours of Weller 12.  My Nationals are up 3-2 so the night is good so far.   Oops now 4-2 Nats.  So far so good!

Had some Barterhouse to start this evening.  I know the Orphan Barrels get slagged around these parts, and I didn't think much of it at first, but I think a little air in the bottle has done wonders for this one, and I now find it a very enjoyable pour.  Would even consider buying a replacement when this one is gone.  Followed that up with some KCSB private barrel.  Also a nice pour, but liked the Barterhouse better tonight.

ECNAS tonight. I think I prefer the 12 yr. But not ready to open my family size bottle just yet.

Having a nice pour of this today, Angel's Envy (Port Wine Barrels). It's nice, but for the price, no way.

Just loaded the flask with some GBS ETL, which means regardless of how crappy the cards might be - I'll still enjoy the evening :)

Tonight I am enjoying a glass of Elmer T Lee single barrel, and here is the best part. I was working at the store today, and a guy came on to the liquor aisle. We started to talk, and it turns out he is quite the bourbon connoisseur. We discussed different bourbons we have tried and enjoyed.

I mentioned that we got some Elmer T Lee in a few months ago, but sold it all before I could buy a bottle, and that I had never tried it.

He told me he had several bottles and would bring me one and give it to me.

About an hour later he came into the store and gave me an unopened bottle of Elmer T Lee single barrel.

The poker gods pissed all over me tonight, but on the bright side - getting home early means another pour before turning in!  Staying on the GBS track, but upping the ante with some 1792 FP.  I'm really wanting to pick up a retail one of these, just to see how it compares, because this is just delicious.  Heat, but not too hot - and a lovely viscous spiciness.  Just what I'd picture when I imagined 1792 at (nearly) barrel proof and NCF.

Returned to an all-time favorite tonite.  Wild Turkey 101.  Mmm-mmm, still got it.

Just finished off the dregs of an orange cap OGD BIB.  Time to refill the bottle and put it back in my trashcan.  Back shortly.

Pretty much the same here only not just at my work. :( I had the last pour from a bottle of 07 WLW alongside my second cup of coffee this morning.

Lazy Sunday afternoon with plenty of time and some baseball.  Perfect for a mixed bag.
