Went with several last night - Gifted Horse to start, then to Blanton's SFTB, and finished it off with Belle Meade 9yr SB high rye with a spash of Old Limestone

How was the gifted horse? I have one I've yet to crack.

For the first time in a very long time (not counting when I fly Delta), I can say that I'm drinking Woodford Reserve. A local chef has selected a custom batch. It's similar to the single barrel programs from other distilleries but instead of selecting a single barrel, you select a number of barrels and then a custom blend of those barrels. This is better than any WR I've had in a long time. Full and rich in flavor. I'll be going back to grab a few more of these.

Maybe they went easy on the pot still stuff.

Went through several small samples with a very good friend in for a visit. WP 10 rye, OWA, GBS RR barrel selection, GBS 1792 barrel selection, OGD 114, 4R OBSF JR gift shop selection. Not too shabby.

Relaxing on the patio while the grill gets going. GTS '09 and an Oliva V just because.

^^^Rich is having an excellent day.

Yeah, dinner was a home grilled NY strip with a great Cabernet and my wife to share with. It is a very good end to the weekend.

As usual, I tend to focus on only a bottle or two at a time to keep my open bottles to a reasonable number.  This weekend I have been enjoying a standard bottle of KCSB.  A 2 oz pour with a couple of small ice cubes to take it down to 105 proof and is a nice cinnamon treat.  Watched the Colts lose which makes me want another pour.  I will wait until the Sunday night game comes on.

I would be remiss if I didn't say that we still mourn those lost on this date 15 years ago.  For me, it carries sentimental significance as I was in my doctor's office receiving chemotherapy. I have been in remission for 15 years.  I will never forget that day nor those who suffered great loss.  I will have a pour to celebrate my status and to remember those who suffered loss and sacrificed for others.  The images are still vivid in my mind.

Just poured a rare breed, to cap the nite off. Makes sense cause the Giants won in Dallas which is rare in itself

A pour of OGD114 to ward off scary rumors, honor the 15th anniversary of 9/11 and welcome the opening of the New England Patriots 2016 season.

Needed something for dessert - BT and its candy apple finish is really hitting the spot as I watch 'The Dirty Dozen' for about the 12th time - almost have the dialog down.

I got there the following Friday - all gone.:(

Yeah, it was gone the next morning. My buddy called and pleaded with them to let me buy him one, with his card etc etc.  They said no, he was there when they opened.

Saluted a hard day in America's history yesterday with the final pour from a FRSB.  Leaving for Kentucky tomorrow, so I'm sure I'll be able to find something enjoyable to replace it.

Enjoying some SAOS7 (batch 184). Lloyd recommended this batch to me a while back and it has been stellar. It's unfortunate that they are dropping the SAOS7 for now, but their SB's should continue to shine. Damn good stuff and I'm glad to have several bottles for the future.

I enjoy it - partly since it's a higher proof but the flavors really stand out and it has a great finish - you'll find a thread here on it where it got good notes - not too common for Diageo releases but this one's pretty good and not as pricey

Sitting on the swing in (under?) the pergola with a generous pour of OGD. Blue sky. Low 80s. Got me to wondering, again,  why I ever spend more than $30 for bourbon.

The last month or so has seemed interminable.  I haven't had anything to drink in the past week and a half. Between last night and tonight, I've managed to put a pretty large dent in a bottle of ORVW 10.

Craziness at home, craziness at work. Bookers 25th calms things down some.

Stagg jr. Followed by fighting cock nas. I think I like the ECBP a bit better than the Stagg jr.

Last night I went to a bar that was distinctly not a bourbon bar with friends who are not whiskey drinkers. Had the first Maker's Mark that I have had in a very long time and have to say, I still enjoy it as a consistently pleasant bourbon that can be found in pretty much any bar.
