When does the Summer thread end? I passed up on a bookers batch 2013-6, one of the roundtables. I've got a fair bit of whiskey and this was priced at $66, in a run down store. I'm sure it has just been sitting there for the last 3 years. I noticed it as the box had a different color but when I went online I just couldn't find enough positive news about it to sway me. I would appreciate opinions as to whether I made a good choice. I typically prefer ECBP or Stagg Jr. to Bookers and can usually get both for cheaper.

I think you are safe sticking with what you like.  Booker's is known for being remarkably consistent from batch to batch.  The naming of batches has caused a lot of renewed interest in the brand, and to some degree has allowed people to convince themselves that there is major "edition" variation, but most experienced bourbon drinkers don't buy it.  A LOT of barrels go into each batch, which ensures general consistency of profile.  Supposedly the round table batches are slightly different, but I'm not sure how that is accomplished given the quantity of barrels involved.

Bottom line: It's a great product at a great price, but so are lots of things.  Buy what you know you want to drink.

Passed on the Bowman Merlot finished in the 375 bottle - just don't usually care for the finished whiskeys but have to say the smaller bottle was cool

I generally like finished whiskies of all sorts but I have to say that while it was overpriced, as most Abraham Bowman's seem to be of late and especially because of the 375ml bottle size, this one was pretty darn good.

finally came across Booker's Rye around these parts... at $300, I still couldn't justify it though.

Abraham Bowman High Rye - amazed its still on a shelf. Already have some.

I've got a couple as well but it's very good and I'd likely go for more if it were me

I passed on a 1792 Full Proof for $55.  I would really like to try it but I see that it generally sells for around $40.

I'd go back and buy. That full proof is quite tasty

Why did you pass, was the price too high or you just don't like it?

The price was fair (monger didn't have it on the shelf yet, but said it was under $50), I just don't drink that much Barton.

For me, the QPR Barton drink of choice is the BIB, which I have a bunker load of (all age stated).  Outside of that, I'm just not really a player...

I really liked that one, it had great depth and complexity for a Booker's. Wish I had bought the other bottle...

I really enjoyed the Bookers Batch 2013-6 too. Just finished a bottle not to long ago. I have 1 left in the bunker, but they cost $47. The store is off on their price at $66 though Theiano.

My feelings exactly.  I tried 1792 several times years ago when I was starting out.  I always got this tannic aftertaste (like tea steeped too long).  I finally decided it just wasn't in my wheelhouse.  Meanwhile, I've been a fan of the VOB BIB 6 year.  Thanks to the heads up here, one of the few times I knew well ahead to bunker some too.

Passed on a FRSB OESV for $75. I thought about it since I haven't tried that recipe but it seemed pricey to me even considering the creeping price over the last several years.

Thanks for all the comments, the price was certainly a turn off, I figured if it was an exceptional batch I could stretch a little but wanted to get some feedback. If I stop by in another 6 months and it is still there gathering dust I might well consider it again.

A basket full of HWRR for 47 bucks. I already have one and instead I picked up something else that may or may not be in danger but I ain't takin any chances.

Passed on Hudson Baby Bourbon even though the price was better than I've seen it elsewhere at $21.99... Just not sure it's something I'd enjoy.
