Grabbed another OGD 114 for the bunker yesterday... Not as inexpensive as some of you all find it, but priced at state minimum $32

Yeah, I haven't seen ECBP for $45 since batch 1. Prices seem to have stabilized around here in the $70 range, but I certainly see it higher. Occasionally I get lucky and find it for $60. With the BTAC all but impossible to find these days, this has become the next best thing for me.

Anyways, I bought a bottle of OF 1920 today for $60. I couldn't pass it up after reading positive reviews here.

While BTAC has gotten tougher, it hasn't necessarily gotten any better. In fact, by many people's opinions, this is sort of a down year overall for BTAC quality as well. Personally, this fall I am spending money that would normally go towards BTAC bottles restocking the bunker on staples in danger (OGD114, age stated EC12, OWA, ETL, etc.) when they are priced well, and for higher end bottles trying to secure some Four Roses limited small batch and High West MWND, as well as ECBP. Those 3 are on par with BTAC/VW for quality as far as I am concerned.

I could've written this exact post just about.  Except for the Tapatalk part.  I went to download that not too long ago and there some fine print about agreeing to let them access all of my files.  Didn't know what that was about but I'll politely decline thank you.

I camped out Wednesday night at Party Source for their PVW/BTAC release.  I got there just before noon on Wednesday and was number #105 in line.  By the time it was my turn to pick, it was down to Stagg, Handy, Lot B, and ORVW....I went with the Stagg.  Since I had already made the 4 hour drive to Ky, I hit a bunch of other liquor stores and ended up getting 2 ORVW (to my surprise), 2 WSR, 6yr Fighting Cock, and a couple store pick 4 roses.  While I was hoping to get a Pappy 15 or 20, I am not disappointed.

Found a Midwinter Night Dram Act 4 Scene 1 for $90 out the door.

I was sold by the "Christmas in a bottle" comments I have read about it, so home it came even though it

wasn't what I went out for.  I will celebrate the start of a new Christmas season on Thanksgiving Day by opening it and sharing at our gathering.

That is quite the haul - what state / city did you pull that down? Congrats

I found a Booker's 2016-02 Annis' Answer that came home with me today. It never hurts to have a good supply of Booker's, especially during football (and now college basketball) season.

Came across an Ancient Ancient Age 10 Year (not 10 Star). Probably not quite worth the $25 from a pure quality perspective, but I grabbed it anyway for the novelty.

There were 2, and I'm debating going back for the other one since there won't be any more after this. FOMO is a pain this hobby...

I loved the Barrell Bourbon batch 9 so much I went back and bought batch 8 today. Will do a side by side layer on and post my notes. I found the batch 9 to have a rich fruitiness similar to 4R OBSO

Spoiler

Picked up an OF 1920 earlier this week based entirely on the positive feedback from members here.

I did the exact same thing.   Hope it lives up to my expectations.

I decided to pick up a bottle of Four Roses Small Batch along with some Boulevard Nutcracker Ale, a 7.8% ABV winter warmer, to protect my attitude from the first expected frost of the season.

Stopped in at my local retailer on the way home from a shift 'in the weeds' doing my volunteer work, just to touch base.    I watched as one of the stock guys was pulling a bottle from a mixed case that was delivered yesterday; but yet to be unpacked.   Lo & behold, the bottle was ECBP (136), which pretty much never hits an actual shelf anywhere around here.     This one didn't either.

Up here in Central MI the 136 sits on the shelf multiple bottles deep at $59.  I have a couple of older ECBP's waiting to be opened, so it's not a must purchase.  However, I would be interested in intel from someone how this batch 12 stacks up.  Glad you found one.

Two bottles of Rebel Yell 10 year old single barrel, both from barrel #4744374, bottled in 09/2005.

My wife was lucky enough to score an ORVW, her number was one of the last to be picked in the Van Winkle lottery.

I was at a soccer tournament about 50 miles from home and passed a wine and spirits store on the way in. 6 hours later, tired and on the way home, I asked my daughter if she minded if we stopped. She said ok but of course I missed the turn and it took 5 minutes to get back on track to cross a busy road. I almost just blew it off. The (slight) inconvenience was worth it. Two bottles of ETL at $39 each. Counter guy said they got them the day before and they never get allocated stuff. I bought a total of three ETLs this week and it might possibly drop off my "buy it whenever you see it at retail price" list.

Picked up OF 1920, RY10SB, and ECBP 136.  Also saw another WTRB 108 at a good price so grabbed it even though I already have plenty in the bunker.  Couldn't help myself ;)

HMcK BIB 10yr - just one.  Opened it in the parking lot to taste just on case I wanted to go get the three bottles on the shelf with the same barrel number.  I liked it but not enough to get out and go back.

I just read what I wrote.  THAT IS SICK!!  But, I'll do it again when I need more HMcK BIB 10yr.
