Had the chance to get a piece of this bottle, a 1/4 to be exact, do to a split with some friends. Can't wait to try it.

Cheers!

Years ago I loved some of the Cadenhead's Scotch. It seems rare to see a Cadenhead Bourbon

Good on Cadenhead for 175 years!

I recall some Deanston and Rosebank 8yo with exceptional fondness.

Let us know what you think of this one- does it show hints of aging outside of KY US? I bet it should. Wonder about % of time spent? Any tax advantage to it?

I would suspect the lighter color than it's age calls for; maybe less oak influence for it's 20 years and looking at the proof of 50.8, the lower proof could play into it too if it's bottled at cask strength.

I would wonder if it was aged in the original barrel? It says 'matured in oak' but that's non specific...

Cheers

Picked on an Old Ezra 7 year and Four Roses OESQ yesterday. Cracked open the Old Ezra last evening — I always enjoy this but don't keep it around all that often.

Sadly, I'm not the one who's keeping the bottle, I only get it in sample bottles but I'm gonna ask for a picture of the back of the bottle. I'll post it here. I'll let you how is it for sure. i don't have much informations about it, even on the internet.

Cheers!

Well that was a successful trip. Left an ecbp and kbs for the next lucky guy to walk in. Haven't tried the new Prarie ale I picked up, but it looked interesting. eeffd3b529150610e9e43168c3bc3906.jpg

Really curious about this one. My understanding is that cadenhead does age their barrels at their facility. If so, it could be a dunnage aged bourbon. I believe dunnage aging often means more alcohol evaporates than water, lowering proof, so could it actually be that this is barrel proof? Or would that be a stretch to get it down to 101?

I had a cadenhead's auchentoshan that was absolutely fabulous. Full tasting notes would be appreciated!

Got a KCSB from B&B Package store in Kingsport, TN ($43), a Barrell Whiskey Batch 001 ($40), and a Spirit of America Bourbon ($20).

I've been drinking it the past two nights at the KBA. It's really good. Brent pulled strings to get early availability for KBA attendees so I was able to snag one right before I left..

Lucky!  What is the proof?

Knob Creek Single Barrel Store Select from BaywayX2.  Knowledgeable sources say it's 12YO. Quick taste showed great flavor balancing wood and sweetness. Will spend more time with this, but looking forward to a cool night, a fire in the outdoor fireplace, a cigar and some friends to share...

Haha! Just realized that they didn't write it down. They rushed the bottling of these for us and it looks they skipped the step of writing the proof.

Well done!  It's what's in the bottle that counts!

Congrats on the score Steve!!! It looks amazing and I'm sure it tastes some much better than it looks. Glad you were one of the lucky ones to get it while you were in for KBA. Maybe next year I can talk the wife into letting me go to an event or two. Again, great pick up from the trip and congrats.

I'm really curious too, I'm not good at reviewing, but my friend who's getting a piece of this is, so as soon as he post his review I'll get back to you.

Cheers!

Correction! When you asked the question I only looked at the photo. For some reason the gold hand writing completely disappears in that light.

I checked the bottle this morning and it's 53.7%.

Picked up a second ETL from the most recent shipment to the state, as well as a bottle of CEHT BP, Batch 6, 128.1 proof.

Got this today in a lottery at TW. My daughter also got a George T. Stagg but she won't even let me so much as even take a picture of it before father's day.  The other pic is what I had to choose from when I got up there. I was #8. She was #21 and GTS was still available. Most people were picking the Van Winkle 12 & 10. If I was a flipper I'd have probably picked the Van Winkle Rye.

That is an absolutely fantastic batch of WLW.  You're gonna love it.

Well chosen!

That had to be a hard table to pick from...
