My first purchase in over 4 months was today! One of the PHC24's will be opened up, one will be put in the bunker, & one will go to a fellow SB'er. Couldn't pass up the lone ECBP.

Good news, bad news. I went to a store Friday to get a bottle of Old Fitz BIB. They were out. :( But I did get something they just got in. :D

Thanks!  I was in the Avon Kroger Saturday night and don't recall seeing a sign.  I walked past the bourbon aisle on my way to pick up peanut butter and jelly.  Maybe I should have walked by a little slower. :lol:

Drinking these abs tonight.

The 17 is coming off as more complex but also much more oak forward which is not always to my liking. It's thinner than Decades due to the proof, but on its own you wouldn't notice.

Fuller mouthfeel on Decades and I like the proof better, but something is off on it tonight (granted I've only had one pour prior to this) so my palate may not be totally right. 

 

Tonight's sbs goes to the 17 but my memory of my first Decades pour was superior so I need to try this again.

Thanks! It was £15 lower than I'd seen elsewhere... still too much but it ain't getting any cheaper!

I bought two EC Privately-Selected Barrel Single Barrel that are 12 years old, a George Dickel 9-year Hand-Selected Barrel, and an OF 1920.

Nice the only EC private barrel picks I have seen here are in the 9ish year range, not that it really matters.

Gotta start back somewhere Hop! I originally passed on these bottles. Then I said Van Winkle has a 25 year old 100 Proof for $1800 MSRP. The PHC24 is a 24 year at 100 Proof for $250 MSRP. Didn't look like to bad of a deal after that.

After tasting a sample from a buddy, went and got one of these as well.
