I've been browsing this thread along with the past 2 versions since I joined SB.  Some of you have amazing bunkers.  Although I am a little afraid as I saw Joe's beginner stash, then, his stash after a few years.  I presume my stash will be formidable in a few years if I continue down this road.   The whiskey nervosa bug bites hard when she strikes.  Looking forward to the road ahead, cheers everybody.

We moved last week and I just got my little whiskey corner set up tonight. Thought I'd snap a shot to share.

I've been at this for a year or so. None of the true unicorns yet though I've snagged a few whiskeys I really like to drink. That is the key, right? Hard to keep that in mind sometimes!

There's a Sweet Wheat and a Pikesville 110 just off the edge of the pic

Just a small collection of unopened bottles,  but proud to have acquired all of them at state retails with no additional markup.  Hope to have a bourbon bar in our new home  very soon!   Sharing my stash with a couple of bourbon buddies is something we truly enjoy .  It seems they always have a few selections I don't and vice versa.  Life is too short to simply collect and not drink!

I love your setup.   We have 3 of these cases that used to house autographed sports memorabilia  and. I can certainly use them for my bourbon stash! Thanks for the idea.

Quoting my own post from 13 months ago to show where I've ended up on this journey. No more BTAC or PVW and I couldn't care less.

Time for my annual update... lost some of the old pics but the core of my bunker is still intact and I yet again managed to increase the 4R portion over the past year.

Full American stash.

Details.

4R PS - largely Binny's and Kenwood with a few Rutledge GS.

THgnhDL.jpg

SmbLE's. 09 Mariage, 125th, and 2015.

I like ECBP a little bit.

And the random's, mostly BT. Note SAOS in the back of an earlier pic.

Non-american. This will be the big change for next year.

Nice collection.  I need to make sure I make a trip into one or two of the Binny's if I come down to see my buddy in Hammond for a trunk filling trip again this summer.

jeez, I need to shop where you shop since I haven't seen ECBP except for one lucky time up north.

Thanks folks. Re: the ECBP stash, less than half were purchased directly. I had to go the trade route for most of them. Missing Batch 1 and 2, not sure I'll bother going after them.

Dude!...... Nice taste! Used to get the ECBP monthly, but lately it's been dry, now I know why!

nice lineup of ETL.  I have one lonely bottle in the bunker I am afraid to open for fear of not finding another.

Paid around $35 for most of them, $55 for two of them, and my dear wife paid $95 for a bottle as my Christmas present. My max limit on a bottle from now on is $50.

That is generally my line in the sand (for any bottle) as well, though I have gone over a few times for new things, or limited things.  Most recently in Dec when I bought 2 each of OESF and OESV for 65 each plus tax.  I don't regret that purchase at all.

I recently moved into a new apartment and upgraded my old IKEA cube organizer to a proper wooden cabinet. My (mainly rye) whiskey shares its space with some fine literature including Will and Ariel Durant's The Story of Civilizaton and the endlessly readable The Civil War: A Narrative by Shelby Foote. And of course a copy of the Whiskey Family Tree.

I'm mainly interested in variety over collectibility or rarity, but there are a few bottles I find noteworthy including a cask strength Roundstone Rye from Catoctin Creek, Silver Fox rye from Big Springs Distillery just down the road from me in Bellefonte, PA and several old bottles of scotch recently discovered in my grandfather's basement. There's also a 1999 Dom Perignon lurking in there acting pretty much as a bookend that my Dad gave to me on the off chance I ever get married or have something similarly monumental to celebrate. Like maybe winning a Pappy or BTAC lottery here in good old draconian PA.

Not pictured are bottles of OGD114, WT101 Rye, Henry McKenna BIB, and Rittenhouse all of which fell in battle over the last several weeks.
