Started with a little turkey 101 rye in the glass and wasn't what I was after so added some 1920 and it was pretty good but added a little blanton and it was on point. Probably 30 55 15. Now night capping with barrell whiskey 002

Sipped through an incredible tipple of Dry Fly triticale straight whiskey barrel proof store select from Davidsons.

I picked one up on a tip from a liquor store employee. He talked to me for a long time about many bourbons and everything checked out to my knowledge so I was certainly impressed. The second bourbon pusher I have talked to recently that actually knew their stuff out here.

The second pour was a short pour of OGD bonded

and I'm sipping a JB distillers cut right now and very satisfied with the evening.

That is one of my all-time favorites!

For me - brought some good ol' EW black label with me on a weekend getaway with the wifey.  Quite enjoyable!

A healthy pour of CEHT Small Batch while watching UFC after a busy Saturday.

For all you Weller Whore wannabies who'll be at the General Nelson in a couple weeks, Fishnbowljoe has done it again. Outstanding mouthfeel and just the right amount of proof in this years blend. Congrats Joe!

Joe sent me a little bit of this blend a couple months ago, and I've been watching it evolve ever since. The components keep integrating and it keeps getting rounder and rounder on the palate as well. It is all I can do to hold enough of it back for the next "analysis"!

Another delicious LRP pick… mega-Dickel coming through on this one.

I like the 116 proof Rare Breed a good bit more than the 112. An orange slice, 4-5 dashes of bitters, 2 luxardo cherries and a big ol’ cube and we are in business. Tough deal on a Sunday but I’m up for it.

Enjoying Ezra Brooks 7 year. Smooth, balanced. It's one I am most worried about the age statement coming off.

It was only rebranded a couple years ago, seems like a lot of expense if they were just going to get rid of it, but anything is possible.

That Rare Breed is wrapped around a 2” ice cube. If not, I’d be in bad shape!

Woody,

that is doing the Lords work. Somewhere Parker is nodding in agreement.

Giving the FR bottles another chance: OESF & OESQ.

The OESF is developing a nice dark chocolate/cocoa thing.

Please elaborate! I travel all the time but ignore those programs. How did that happen?

Moved my daughter out today to the house she just bought..at 23! Had a nice pour to end the day. My younger daughter moved to an apartment as well so now we are officially empty nesters. There is a LOT of cleanup up to do still. Lots of their stuff still here. My wife gets a craft room and I get a drum room. :)

After the 4R I had some more Longbranch. After the proof of the 4R it does come across very soft and smooth. Still has that weird smoky (mesquite?) finish. I got less of the rough edges and alcohol tonight.
