Enjoyed a few pours of lower-proof Maker's yesterday afternoon.  Bought the bottle after the uproar and correction, just to do a blind sbs (which I couldn't pick out the difference).  Then promptly forgot about it!  Tastes . . . just like Makers :)

Having a few really small pours of past favorites, started with a Blanton's Store pick that really hit the spot, followed by an ER store pick that seemed flat, A bit of RHF that was pretty OK and now onto the smallest pour of Yellowstone that is really working well.

After finishing an OESK that was fantastic moved across town to 2005 WT 101.

Got my eye on SAOS 7 to finish the night.

Lawrenceburg trifecta.

Had a couple pours of this today at our 25th wedding anniversary lunch at Emeril's Delmonico. VERY good barrel select. Takes the regular OWA profile and adds a dose of vanilla and cuts back a little of the red hots flavor. Outstanding nose.

I'm having a big pour of four roses single barrel. It's one of my favorites. Going to BBQ some fish too. Bourbon pairs with everything :)

Working my way through a High West American Prairie.

I wasn't aware that 4R was one of the sources for this. I was sipping some 4R OESQ the night thinking that it was slightly similar to some MGP I'd had... I guess this was it.

Well the Turkey was tasting so good I decided a couple more pours were in order.

Of the 4 you've had tonight which one did the best at hitting the spot?

For whatever reason tonight it was the 13, MK17, 12 and Decades in that order. The two lower proof pours really were working for me.

In Las Vegas for work this week and picked up a WT101 to enjoy in the evenings, hitting the spot just like always.

No experience with the Yellowstone.  Which expression?  I frequently do a number of small pours to get my raste buds going before settling on an evenings pour.

The select (93 proof), the price is all over the place around here, but I like it enough to buy in the low to mid $30s. The LE's have been enjoyable to me but maybe not worth the coin, for whatever reason Stew Leonard's in Clifton seems to blow them out at a better price than other stores after they sit for a while.

The 13 is underrated because of the low proof but it certainly packs a lot of flavour, I find.

If this was on the shelf here I would always have a bottle, sometimes lower proof and full flavored are the perfect combination, and the 13 really stood out more than I had remembered from my previous pours from the bottle you were kind enough to bring me.

Perhaps some open time did it some good! My pleasure. I may be over later in the year again, would be good to catch up for another round of cocktails!

After an extended journey across the USofA not once, not twice, but three (3) whole times, the Long March is complete.
