Since I have been posting in a thread about labeling that basically no one comments on for purely my own enjoyment, it may be obvious to some that I'm part of the problem :D

I’ve been preoccupied for a bit but I just saw the labeling thread and love it. Keep up the good work.

Whew! Rocky start to the final day.  Thought I would just dance through and take the decision.  But, this week was not going to go quietly.  Landed the big one late, to put it away.  Pro Tip:  Never.  Ever.  Leave it in the hands of the Swiss judge.  Finish it yourself.  Now, on to the weekend, and party time!  The King of Whiskies, ‘04 George T Stagg, is fitting tonight.  Only thing greater than Stagg to come out of the Motherland is the “Greatest of all time!” MUHAMMAD ALIIIIIIIIIIIII !!!!!!!!!

We really should get our DNAs tested.  :D

I’ve been runnin’ around doing errands most of the day, and now plopped into the comfy chair for some football with a GBS EC PS.

Damn it Gary! You’ve know Joe long enough to know that’s how it starts!

Rich - Mrs. Smokinjoe and I have an arrangement. I encourage Joe in this sort of thing, which keeps him busy on the computer coming up with more stuff, which means there's less time for him to bother her. In return, she periodically sends me a GBS private selection bottle from his bunker to show her appreciation. She's happy, I'm happy, and if it means that SB has to put up with more of his shenanigans, so be it :D:D

Just watched Gator D throw up one of the greatest goal line stands I’ve ever seen.  Dawgs would have had better luck getting that yard through Stone Mountain.

GBS Inaugural Barrel, a 14 yr EC 12 in the glass at the time.

Cracked open one of the 1L OFbib bottles I stumbled on last night (500 miles from its old KY home).  Got me missing old KY - and RIP OFbib - just a little bit more...

Still, 6 years is a long time. For me, so far, I've held onto a bottle for 3-4 yrs.

Can we put something in the new guy thread about encouraging Joe? Like a don’t feed the bears kind of thing?

Kevin, I know you’re not a new guy but if too many more folks keep this up then he will be insufferable.

C'mon now, you know smokinjoe (and I don't mean Frazier) has a thing for GOATs (and I may or may not mean Ali) being from Georgia and all.  ?

I could go into a long boring explanation of the whys and wherefores, but I won’t. I’ll just say that I reached way in the back of the cabinet and pulled out a nice bottle this evening. A shout out to Vosgar for the inspiration. ORVW 10 (old bottle) in the glass tonight and is being thoroughly enjoyed.  :D

Had a very satisfying pour from a long-time-stashed archival bottle of Abraham Bowman Pioneer Spirit, Distilled in 1-18-'93, bottled 8-25-'11 (so, 18+ years old), 137.9-proof.

This was a true gem, and I'll be sad to see the very end of it... one more decent pour left.    Got this one directly from the MD, now passed, way too soon.

2017 GTS. The first few pours I had of this bottle were good, but not great. Tonight, however, it's amazing. What's changed? Who knows, but I'm going to say it's because of the tacos I had for supper :D

Having a pour from my infinity bottle. I pour a shot of every new bourbon I get into it and never drink it past half way. Not bad, but it's certainly got alot going on. The flavor profile is understandibly all over the place.

First couple pours of 17 Stagg I had were kind of meh. And these were from bar bottles so they were different. Every pour I've had since then have been outstanding. Who knows?

Tonight I had the last pour of a WTKS Westport Whiskey and Wine selection from Louisville. After that, opened the latest Stage Jr. release and had a small pour. I must say, the new version is absolutely  fantastic!! The nose isn't all that impressive, but the taste and finish are amazing. Got an immediate sweet cherries or cherry pie on the palate, and the finish lasts for a long time. Definitely going to try and get a few more tomorrow.

Been working through a very enjoyable vatting of a 1792RR store pick and VOB BiB. Its nearing the end so I did a little 1792, 1792/VOB and VOB Bib SBS. I can state with certainty that I prefer VOV BiB to any of the 1792 small batch I have had, std issue, store pick, whatever. The VOB is as many here put it " in my wheelhouse". I will have to "re-up" next spring.
