Regular MM tonight; seems even better from the family size bottle.

Review of the Old Forester saga -

For many years, Signature was great.  Whiskey Row series came out, Signature suffered.  Current paper label 100 proof came out.  Quality is a little improved from the bad Signature, but nowhere near a dusty bottle.

I’m actually ok with the Stros losing to the Sox, Yankees on the other hand....

A nice pour of PVW15 to finish off a great late night.   ☺️

Had this last night, a PS from a well respected whiskey bar owned by an SBer, like the nose, wish it had more years on it. Has some heat. Would figure JD has more barrels than anyone aging away in there rickhouses. Oh well still good stuff.

Thanks! It’s a set of four that was my parents’. Probably new in the late 70’s and unlike most things from that decade, has aged pretty well.

Yeah, I was made in the late 70s and haven’t aged that well.

Started the evening with a EC SB selection which was followed closely by some WSR. Needless to say, it was a nice kickoff to the weekend.

A gifted blood oath pact 3 that is going to take me years to finish because its mediocre. Following up with an OWA store pick which blows the fancy one out of the water.

This WTKS pick from B did not survive the firepit following supper club. Gumbo, french bread and macaroons. Not a bad Friday night by any means.

Love that stuff. Wish it was a little less expensive but it’s delicious

I’ve not had E.W. Yet. I am curious of your thoughts about it.

I'd describe it as a cross between EW BiB and Elijah 12. It a very good but for the price I'd settle with Elijah 12 quite happily.

Some Jim Beam black while watching college football.  Not bad stuff, kinda tastes like a mellowed out OGD 114.

Had some Revival earlier, great nose, but my palate was off. Had some 81 proof after that, same, it tasted also weird. So I’ll revisit the Reviival tomorrow. I’m not wasting any whiskey today. Cheers!

Will.
