They have been under the radar but just opened up tours and tasting room to the public. I think they might be the largest whiskey distillery this side of the Mississippi. 2 of 36" column stills and 3 very large pot stills. Considering the climate (and I suppose not considering climate controlled barrel storage) used cooperage in your part of the country seems to me to be a good route to go for aging, I know that some distilleries are going with larger barrels as another tactic, regardless I'd be interested to try the results. They are using 53 gallon barrels and storing palletized - bunghole on barrel end. They are in stored in old rice silos with have super thick concrete walls so not as hot in there as you might expect for Houston.

Most were just so-so.@kevinbrink is correct the color scheme is different. I actually like the normal Larceny and all the HH wheaten various offerings. I’d actually prefer if they brought back something like the 12 yr VSOF.

The Black Tot
Wait a minute. That CR 16yr still says "blended". Did they mix GNS with young flavoring whisky and age THAT for 16yrs? Or is this all 16yr old flavoring whisky? 90 proof is OK but I do wish they were up at the Hand Select 103.

Richnimrod
A couple quick comments about the HH 10-year Archives one.... 'Aged for 10-years in a SINGLE BARREL'.....???? Seems a bit smarmy to make this claim so obviously on the front label, if this isn't a single barrel bottling; yet every Bourbon (well maybe not EVERY ONE) is aged in a single barrel, while not so many are bottled from a single barrel, no? Are they trying to mislead, or just rather poor communicators... on purpose?.. accidentally on purpose? Also, the 100-proof claim on the front, as well as the barrel proof description on the back label seem incongruous... or is that proof claim merely a "placeholder"?
