A fairly nice bottle with a neat looking cap.   The Bourbon inside isn't spectacular; but, it's OK.   I have one as well (not that private pick, tho).   Won't replace it; but I'll eventually drink it.

I started doing that when they first came out, but soon realized I couldn't keep up the pace.  They are everywhere in my neck of the woods.  Far and away the most common PS.

The local grocery store must have a new spirits manager because they put a lot on clearance. Grabbed a Bakers at $35 and two FRSiB at $29. The FR had been $39 and the Bakers sticker was $52. Noticed orange clearance stickers on vodka gin and rum too. Was hoping I could find someone to ask about it but nobody around so grabbed my bottles and came home.

I actually seen a store pick today of the 1792 and now feel bad leaving it behind as well as the old scout store pick....

ended up with going with these two. The BT is mighty tasty and will have to go back for a couple more next week. Not sure about the IW Harper, but got it anyways, maybe it was the age statement or maybe it was the bottle.....

Went on a small format bender. Been interested to test out the Peerless and see if it’s all hype. The W.B.Saffell is great according to rarebird101 so let’s find out!

I’d be interested in knowing about the IWH, it wouldv’e gotten my attention as well if semi-affordable with a 15 year age statement.. I’ve got several vintage IWH bottles boxed up somewhere but have never partaken it at any age... ???

While I didn't visit a store today, did manage to find these to add to the cabinet. A friend won them in the state lottery last fall and need to raise some cash for some home projects. Managed to get them for what he paid at retail.

I tried to convince the wife to let me include the bottle of Kentucky Owl Batch 8 Bourbon as well, but she wasn't happy with the $350 retail price tag. I'm sure he will find someone to give it a happy home soon. IMG_2100.jpg

Very nice! I’d wager down the road you will thank the wife. I passed on the KO batch 8 all over the place at $300 per.  Tried a sample from a friend, it’s good, but nowhere near worth $350 IMHO or nearly 2x what you got there.

Ah, well, damn. I can’t really follow that. Helluva score!

I grabbed a OESV FRSiB Store Pick yesterday. 9 year, 9 month.

I tried the SAOS I picked up last week. The 13 year Dickel. It was...not good. Should’ve listened to you guys. Hopefully letting it breath for a while airs out the Dickel funk a bit.

SJR at $45, ECBP at $55, and a couple ER.  A couple those bottles are for a friend.

I actually rather enjoy this one for a low end sipper.

Tastes like baby Blanton’s.

Brought these home from a road trip, since I’ve never seen it in MO.

Never tried the Michter’s. The Old Forester signature is good stuff, and I bought this one to have the empty 1L bottle when it’s gone for vatting and/or BA cocktail storage. Is that weird? I like both the 1,000 ml size for easy math and the screw top as well.

King Sue is one of my favorites and I am always excited to see it on the shelf.

Today's haul from visiting family in KS.

Rossville Union Rye: been wanting to try this MGP labeled rye as I typically love the ryes sourced from them. $35+tax.

Eagle rare: pretty hard to come by here now, so saw one for $36+tax and decided to add to bunker even though it isn't my favorite. Does make a great gift though.

Willet Family Estate Rye 4 yr: I have had several of the 114.4 proof batch, with 2 in bunker already but saw this bottle so decided never can have enough since I love the stuff. Probably my favorite of the 65 or so bottles I have open. Then at another spot saw the 109 proof which I haven't had, and decided I def needed to compare. $50+tax was the price on both willet ryes. May need to have a family member grab me another if 109 is as good as 114.4.

Been hunting for this for a while.  Heading to the motherland in June, any places I could look it up?

Don't know your route, but it was plentiful around Atlanta (at $15-$19 a bottle) when I looked for and purchased one last year.

This is the first time I got to have a chance to purchase this bottle. It’s a good looking bottle and I can’t wait to try out. I left 4 on the shelf and that was me being good. $39.99.
