Stopped into Costco for some coffee, and ended up walking out with a Maker’s Mark Generations of Proof bourbon set.  Really a pretty good deal as it is, and I have wanted to try the 46 CS, so it was a no-brainer.  Opened the 46 CS upon arriving home, and had a pour.  Very hot out of the bottle to be frank, but really opened up nicely with some water added.  Looking forward to seeing this open up a bit more with some airtime.

What did that set you back, if you don't mind my asking?

Warmed up with the little brothers but time for the main  man.

Figured I'd break out GTS to celebrate some sports stuff. Been a good weekend for my teams...

-Sooners open conference  play with a big win and Hurts is killing it so far

-Astros clinch home field through the playoffs

-Verlander gets his 3000th career strikeout

-JV & Cole both get 300 k's on the season

I'll drink to that ?

Watching the last night game in the Texas Rangers ballpark. Ballpark we barely knew you.

A true classic ballpark

4R BP PS OBSV + ginger ale.

Perfect.

Cheers

Harry, I think I'm growing up to be you.

I'm looking at bed frame riser stilts so that I can stash my latest purchases under the bed.

That was my former red line. Things are getting serious. I looked at a UK storage space but that costs about 3 decent bottles per month!

UNDER THE BED!!!!  We had three cats (only one is still with us) and many years ago put Container Store storage boxes under the beds to keep the cats from leaving surprises under there.  The boxes in our bedroom are STILL there (out of sight, out of mind) and, I think, are empty.  A whole new world of storage just opened up to me.

Although it's mid-afternoon, I think I'll celebrate getting this piece of inspiration by following my Hardywood (Richmond VA) Pilsner with a shot of diluted OGD 114 in my coffee dregs.  Besides, the Skins are losing so I need to change positions to change their karma.

Thanks!  The Costco's in MD don't sell beer or liquor,  but the warehouse in DC is less than an hour from the house. Might be worth the trip

I cracked open a bottle I bought a couple weex ago at Lux Row in Bardstown: Double Barrel 12-year.    I was a bit disappointed to find it a little oaky, and a bit harsh; but, heartened when I tried another pour from a fine, reliably wonderful bottle (Wm. Heavenhill) and found it pretty much the same.   So, I guess, just a bad day for my taste buddies.   I'll revisit it when I know I'm up to the job.

Lineup to watch the Cardinals play for a division title and the Bears host the Vikings. (I live halfway between St. Louis and Chicago).

Had a pour of EW 1783.  It was nice for an afternoon drink while watching some football and dealing with the internet provider.  Had to talk to 5 people to "upgrade" my service.  Seems their base service is cheaper than what I was grandfathered into a few years ago for 3 times the speed...  You know, if they really cared for their customers, they should have upgraded me automatically instead of sticking it to me for so many years...

Anyway, the bourbon was nice to relax with after 2 hour fiasco :D

Drinking some OF1915.

Like some others here, the 1910 on its own just doesn't work for me so I'm taking the advice of some other others (please remind me who you are so I can thank you) and am mingling 1910 and 1920.

Not bad. This helps me follow @The Black Tot 's plan to thin the herd of its weakest members so that my bunker can be healthy and strong.

@Kepler - the Stagg Jr. has been brought upstairs for the blend with ER. Thank you for reminding me of that creation!
