He tried this and was like, “that’s really good Man Whiskey”.

I love this quote. He's a wise man

There’s a family event at my son’s school on that weekend every year— I’ll be in CT. That’s the reason I came to Bardstown for the small fall event last year.

Gah! Now you tell me. I just need to come down and see you in Louisiana then. Also, don't forget to let me know the next time you are in Seattle.

Charter 101 i think. I may have put something else in the pint bottle a while back. Its goes good with tamiflu.

This is even more fantastic! ?

I'm usually up your way several times of year-- I'll let you know. The booze room here has finally taken shape (albeit a claustrophobic one) should you ever want to delve into a diversity of spirits. Best regards.

once I got my sick kids in bed I had to break out a high proof bottle to kill off the germs that I may have inhaled. I figured some 1792 FP would do the trick.

Which is hilarious because those pot stills produce terrible whiskey.

Maybe that's why I've always loved Old Forester, in all its iterations,  but have never cared for Woodford Reserve.    (And by that I mean the bourbon.  WR Rye is quite nice.)

Taking a few days off for a winter break. In Grand Rapids at the JWMarriott to see the boat show. Had a Paper Tiger in the hotel bar. It is really a riff on a boulevardier. The old Forester went well in this cocktail. As long as I don’t end up with a new boat, it will be a good weekend.

Crazy busy at work this week, so decided to open something special to jump start the decompression needed to get ready for a solid finish tomorrow.  This ETL is one of our groups best picks.  A nice butteriness on the finish is sitting with my palate very well, right now.

Not living it up Smokinmuthafuckinjoe, but dug out a mingle I'd started years ago - a FRSB blend with 1oz from each of the 10 recipes.  No longer have bottles of all 10 recipes (and can't believe that I didn't make a log of exactly what bottles I pulled from, but I didn't).  I liked it, but it didn't strike me as 'greater than the sum of its parts' at the time.  Tonight a healthy pour of it is making me think of FRSmBLE (ok - maybe not that good, but damn tasty).  Thinking as this nears the bottom of the 375mL bottle I need to just transition it to a FRSB mingle with a spash of whatever I've got open until it gets low again (and repeat).

The best ETL I've had.

Your brother was kind enough to bring me a couple bottles. The first one disappeared quickly and I've been holding onto the second one for far too long. It's time for me to give up that "I'll open it for a special occasion" nonsense and enjoy it now.

A New Riff BP, from a group that I'm in.  I've been a fan, since they opened their doors. This distillery does it right.

2019 WLW & GTS at a bar in Alabama last night - $18/1.5oz pour.  Weller 12 & StaggJr (Batch 13) - $10/1.5 oz pour.  And I ain't saying where we are until either the bottles are all gone or we leave town!   ?

This is good for sipping. And from Kentucky. Therefore I can confirm this has been named accordingly.

Surprised to finally find this one on the shelf, and had high hopes, since my favorite KC picks have been 12-13 years.  First pour was disappointing, with some of the funk present.  Wouldn't have made the cut in a barrel pick for me...  Hope a little air time helps, but my experience is that the funk doesn't go away...

Bad?  No.  Worth $61+tax?  No.

A Peerless 4 year 1 month old bourbon bottled for the 2020 New Orleans Bourbon Fest.  Not very encouraging at first blush— although my wife will like the bottle.
