Fields: Par broil them for about two hours, and they come out rather nicely. Biba! Joe
SteveoT
Eagle Rare store pick and Early Times BiB. First time seeing the early times around me in New York and how can you pass on a Eagle Rare store pick? Maybe unpopular opinion but I will buy Early Times every time I come across it in a store now for a daily drinker. I love it at $22.

parksmart
Stopped by my somewhat local TW today. Noticed that JB DC was on the shelf at $15.99/bottle, which is $1 less than prior bottles I’d gotten from there. Saw a case stacked above the shelves, and had an employee pull it down for me. Clients gonna be getting some liquid goodness when December rolls around!

Thinking of making a run to get some more KC Cask Strength Rye and wouldn't mind grabbing a couple more DCs...

WD40
Purchased my first bottle of OGD114. I've read reviews and seems to one worth stocking the on home shelves. Anyone have any feedback on this selection...does it need a splash of water or ice, or better served neat?

Grandpa Weller's 4 Grain - yummy.

You will not be disappointed. If you are just box the remainder up and send it to me. I will properly dispose of it for you. Don't think it needs a splash of water and neat or with a cube or 2 of ice is fine.

IMO it doesn't need anything but a clean glass. It is a nice cocktail bourbon also.

Paddy
Obligatory car shot alert! I’ve been out of town for a couple of weeks and had resigned myself to missing out this year. Thankfully, my loyalty was rewarded with this little gem that was offered upon my return. It’s absolutely on par with last years release, which is more than enough evidence (for me) that Brent’s got the 4R train rolling at full steam again...

GW4G is a perfect use for 114 if you decide it is not for you. My introduction to 114 was years ago when it was the Bottle of the Month. I bought my 1st 750 and took my first sip — oily, HOT, acetone, and little else. I went to the kitchen to get some ice water to rinse out my mouth. Also rinsed some dishes and returned to the tv. Room had a floral bouquet. Sniffed the 114 LIGHTLY and smelled ambrosia. Nowadays, I pour a measured 2 oz. of 114 in a Glencairn and add an ice maker ice cube which practice and the SB proof calculator tells me drops the proof to about 105 when the cube’s melted. It’s just enough different than OGDBIB that I treat it as a treat. I still prefer OGD, but when 114 goes on sale, cost-benefit makes it worth the per oz. differential. EDIT - Oh, yeah, in sweet and sour cocktails, it works well, especially if you want to use slightly less (like, 1.75 oz. instead of 2 oz.) in the drink. The extra alcohol stands up well to sugar and lemon. Edited November 6, 2020 by Harry in WashDC

k-train
Picked up a 7 year old Larceny SiB PS for $24. It's not super complex by any means, but has a nice breakfast cereal thing going on. I also grabbed a bottle of WT101 for $20. I haven't had WT101 in years, and wow, what a difference that's made! I've always loved RR10Y & RRSiB, but I honestly didn't care for the 101 much back when I last had it. Back then, I found it to be a bit too forward on the cinnamon spice without much else going on, plus it seemed like the alcohol was really present. Fast forward to now and it's a totally different experience. From the initial pour, I was greeted with an incredibly delicious burst of caramel. The spice was there, but nowhere near as obnoxious as I remembered it to be previously. Instead, it was just enough to balance out the sweetness very, very nicely. While the finish isn't particularly long or exciting, this is really enjoyable, especially for a $20 bottle... and I now fully understand why folks hype this up so much as a wonderful everyday sipper. I just grabbed a WR Wheated which seems to be readily available. I will certainly be patient with her first go around. I am typically neat guy, so I'll certainly start there.
