WD40
My sister lives in North Carolina, where everything seems hard t come by, was visiting Northeast Maryland and Delaware this weekend for a Lacrosse Tournament. Made their rounds in the area and I was able to come away with this haul.

IowaJeff
It's been awhile since I bought any bourbon. I picked up a Maker's Mark Generations of Proof set at Costco for $70. Has 375s of MM Cask Strength, 46 cask strength, and a private select. I've been nursing a bottle of Private Select for awhile, so now I can polish that off and crack one of these open.

DanP
Stumbled onto these, wish I could claim to have paid MSRP but oh well. I’m happy nonetheless.
Jazzhead
Decided to splurge on the new Little Book (Chapter 4). I've enjoyed this series from the start, and am partial to blends with disclosed provenance. High-rye rye previously used for Booker's Rye, a youngish bourbon with brown rice as the secondary grain, and Knob Creek. Before this bottle is done I'm going to have to do a side by side with a Bookers. Although what it most reminds me of right now is Garrison Brothers

DanP
I paid $300 for the Wellers, $75 for the EH Taylor, and $45 for the Eagle Rare. What’s even worse is that the wife declared fair is fair and is buying the equivalent amount in clothes, so double the amounts I put. I’ll be eating Ramen while sipping my Wellers. Dear God man, you should've posted that you were looking for in the "Help a Member find" forum. We could've saved you some cash and a shopping spree! No bottle is worth $300 to me, my two cents. Let us know your thoughts on the Weller!

I do see a good amount of the various Belle Meade offerings here though, but that may just be in this particular part of the state. As for the HMSiB. it shows up a few times a year but gets bought up fast. They also keep raising the price on it every year. The last time I had it was in 2017 when it was $34 and occasionally on sale for about $30. In 2018 they raised the price to $37, then to $40 last year, and starting this month they've upped it to $45. Yeah, I knew I was opening myself up to some ridicule, probably deserved. But here in SC finding any Weller product is akin to snipe hunting. Had a buddy pay $400 about a month ago and thought he was getting a decent deal (probably saved some money vs. prices being asked on the internet). I'll save the bottle for a special occasion, so I won't be commenting on how I like it for quite some time I'm sure. Anyway, I'll follow up with a photo so you guys can pin it on your dart board. And thanks for the tip on the "Help a Member Find" forum. Still being a newbie to this forum I am purposely steering clear of that. I don't want the appearance of joining this site for the purpose of scoring a hard to find bourbon!

People will bust your balls a little, but it's largely all in fun. Don't let it detour you from posting things in the future. Only you can decide if those were worth the price or not. That being said, if one of your first few posts was a pic of you holding that WFP in your car asking if it tastes good, you're liable to get ridiculed like crazy. I collect jazz records, and once in a while I willingly have overpaid for to hear a gem I just have to hear. What hobbies like ours are about is the acquisition of esoteric knowledge. Weller has an enormous reputation, is frustratingly rare, and to have a true picture of the bourbon scene, well, you just gotta have a taste. I understand completely, and predict you'll get a full measure of enjoyment from this full-proof legend.

Besides, ask some of us how much money we drop at our regular liquor stores in order to rate high enough to get a WFP for $49.99. I bet it's a lot more than $300 Enjoy that FP, it's a good one for sure.
