Braves Tampa Bay would be a GREAT series for this off-year.  Just my opinion.

Yes it would be perfect for MLB this year.

Nice make up choice!  ?? That Blend of Mashbills is my favorite PHC.

I haven't tasted them all but it's my favorite of the 5 or 6 I have tasted.

I was surprised and thrilled to see 9 barrels when we walked in. The only recipe missing was OESO.

Of course it's missing - it's the ONLY one of the 10 that I'm missing (hint, hint GBS guys - I'm beggin' bigtime here!)   ?

Well, the wife and I are celebrating our Rays win in Game 7 of the ALCS tonight.  It appears that there are a few Braves fans on this board, so I'll pull for you guys in the NLCS decider tomorrow...but, not after that! LOL!  Go Rays!

From a Cards fan, you're welcome for Arozarena, who was a throw in on the Martinez-Liberatore trade ?

congrats on the WS trip. I thought Cash was crazy for yanking Morton when he did after what happened Friday night. Cap tipped to it being the correct move, though. Cheers.

On its way to a spectacular Manhattan.  I almost added this to the infinity bottle but one cocktail later, I'm glad I didn't.

NYC is deeply beautiful right now, even after almost 40 years and in the midst of Covid.  It's old and worn and it begs you to be young again.

Ending the weekend on a high note, so to speak. Finally pulled this out of the upstairs linen closet that serves as my bunker. Nice stuff.

FR Small Batch Select followed by WT101. The FR is good, and I'm enjoying it, but probably won't be a repeat buyer. I'd rather the classic Single Barrel at $15 cheaper.

Continuing on with this '16 OWA that got opened up Friday night. We sbs it against a new bottle and this one blew it away.

That beer is AMAZING as well.

Based on recent posts I would like to volunteer to help you with “slogging” through that 300 bottle bunker. :)

Okay, continuing slogging through the bunker, I am enjoying a solid basic, RR Single Barrel from just a few years ago. I am a real WT fan. And BF, and Dickel, and a whole lot more, including HH, BT, and all the rest, for that matter. Ha.

GW4G from the fridge tonite while doing up some dry-aged sirloin strip steaks on the barbie on a warm (?) fall nite.  Yummo!    ?

Sipping on WT 101 KSBW.  I found a whole handle two weeks ago while rehanging a basement cabinet that decided to separate from the wall board after 45 years.  I remember hanging the cabinets but have no recollection of buying the 101 handle.  It's the new label so don't get excited - can't be all that long ago.

My upcoming weekend chore will be easier, though.  GEETEN has inspired me to FINALLY getting around to making up new batches of GW4G (3 114 to 2 WSR, and the WSR is a really good store pick I got months ago - Magruders had some you locals although I missed their W12 pick) and a basic 1:1 SB blend.  I have PLENTY of makings, especially the WSR which is good by itself.

No waygu tonight?  Really letting things go downhill over there in beantown!

What is your ratio for GW4G?  Last time I made the blend I did several different options and believe I liked  the 2/3 WSR (16oz) and 1/3 OGD (8oz) the best.  This is a blend that I 100% feel the sum is far superior to the parts.

I opened one of my small collection of ET BIB.  This is really in my wheelhouse.  When B-F makes something I like, it checks all the boxes.

SWMBO is on a thinning kick and thinks Wagyu is too "fatty-tasting" (?) - likes the leaner, more flavorfull taste of the dry-aged Prime sirloins strips.  That's my story and I'm sticking with it!  ?

The label on my GW4G Hibiki decanter says "3xWSR:2xOGD114".  This is the last of my "summer refridgerator" recipe.  Next batch is going up-proof to 3xOGD114:2xWSR (@Harry in WashDC's blend) for the colder winter nite's dram.  I'm a-droolin' already.  ?

That's right, thanks for jogging my memory!  My favorite blend was the 3:2 ratio so 15oz WSR and 10oz OGD.  Final proof comes in at 99.6 which is right in my wheelhouse.  I'll give the Harry blend a go next time as I do not care much for OGD 114 on its own so making a 3:2 batch and a 2:3 batch will empty both bottles!  The higher OGD batch will come out at 104.4pf.

I settled on the higher proof for GW4G so I could add ice in Summer without washing down the flavors.  I drink it neat in Winter BUT the pours are smaller and sipping is stretched out.  FWIW, 105 is my sweet spot for 114 by itself - one fridge icemaker cube allowed to come to room temp per 2 OZ.

Hmmm, I wonder?  I know GeeTen, Paddy, Harry and myself are old farts. I’ll pony up and say that next June I’ll reach the magical age of 65. Anyone else?  What’s your excuse Bob? ?
