Christmas Eve and having a pour of the new GTS that me and a local lady split because it’s the only one the we came across around us this year.
I‘m sure this may be an unpopular opinion but I’m not impressed. Very one sided bourbon this year. Not bad but definitely not worth hunting down another one.
I’m glad I was able to get a THH this year, now that’s a good one.

It isn't the size of your stash but what you have in it.

That's what I always say about oh so many things these days.   ?

Started early with the special pours. Prime Rib is in the oven and we have a very big Cabernet decanting so while the palate is fresh pre dinner I'm enjoying some WTMK 17yr BIB and then some PVW15.

Glorious.

This is us today.  Huge Prime Rib Roast, family, games, and bourbon on a very cold Christmas Day in Indiana.  I have my eye on a special pour or two today because in spite of this long and difficult year for so many, Christmas reminds us of hope for today, tomorrow and eternally.

Bourbon is why we are participate in this community (forum).  But, Christmas is about family and friends.  Of course, I plan to share bourbon with family and friends.

BTW, Ralphie does almost shoot his eye out.  He should have listened to his parents.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!

A tradition here for many, many years was to gather at my mother and father in laws house Xmas Eve. My fil and I both loved the movie Christmas Story, and year after year, we'd torture the rest of the family with it every chance we got. Every time the channel was changed on the tv to a new movie or program, somehow my fil or I always "accidentally" managed to pause on TBS and A Christmas Story. One year we gave my fil a replica leg lamp for Xmas. He absolutely loved it. It remained on display in their tv room for many a year. Sadly, my fil passed away 4 years ago. After my mil passed away two years ago, we were getting their house ready to sell, and I was asked if I wanted anything of theirs before we had an estate sale. The leg lamp was the only thing I wanted. It brings back some very fond memories.

Merry Christmas to my SB family. :)

I’m drinking some of the PHC wheat whiskey from 5 or six years ago? Sitting in front of the fireplace watching the Vikings/Saints game. Merry Christmas all

Just got back from my daughters house.  Got to see both the grandkids.  Settling in to watch the second half of the Vikings/Saints game.  She said she wanted a glass of merlot and I didn't want her to have to drink alone so . . .

Had a little EWSB while making dinner (just the two of us), now settling in with a little of the MM 101 I picked up yesterday. I really like this expression...hitting the spot tonight.

Nice dessert after a rotisserie pork loin roast, grilled onions, fried apples, Little Potato Co. creamer potatoes, and some take-n-bake dinner rolls. :)

Merry Christmas to you all!

Winding down a cold Christmas Day with a little football and a pour of 2013 WLW.

I will enjoy this pour slowly and then watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas."

I am sure I will find a nice follow up pour.

Merry Xmas Todd. If we can put this Covid-19 behind us before too much longer, maybe I’ll be able to come up and see you and the band again. ?

Had a pour of some WLW earlier today, and followed that up with some THH (sorry - not bourbon) and closing tonight out with a Rutledge gift shop OBSO.  None disappointed :)  Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

I stayed with PHC and went to last year’s rye. Delicious. Better than the Wheat to me, but I love rye

Thought I’d break in the new glassware with a couple of my favorites from 2020.

My first pour was Bardstown Discovery Series No. 2.

My second is this one.

I generally feel this way about all the GTS.  Though GTS are not that wood forward, with less wood notes the 2011 was able to shine more onto what GTS can offer.

ER10 also usually little less complex in my mind, which made the 375 ml I was into for Christmas eve more exciting, it is stellar.   Planned on working it again tonight but returned to a George Dickel Barrel Select that proves to be extremely enjoyable.  Flavorful.

Had a pour of VOB 100 Christmas night just because I hadn't drank it in months. Great taste for the price.

Drinking a little of George Gavin Brown's finest liquid as recommended by Dr. William Forrester.  He might be onto something here.

Pulled out a “rare” one I’ve been milking for several years.  Still delicious!

The wine finish tames the brash 1792 in a way that is truly balanced.

Definitely one of my favorite finished products over the years, but Barton bourbon seems to take to it quite well.

The Amador (Barton) Chardonnay finished was another favorite of mine that drank way to easy.

:)
