Fingers crossed that AC issue got resolved, or you're going to be miserable today and tomorrow. You may need to throw a bottle of 4RYL in the company freezer.

Or Benchmark No. 8. I hear that’s the new hot freezer pour for 2021. . . 🥶

Yesterday I opened up a dusty,  a 2000-or-so vintage Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star.   This evening I find it blends perfectly with a Leopold Bros. BIB,  which has been a hard pour for me with its grassy dryness.   The AAA's honey notes temper things well,  and I feel I now have a viable plan for killing this bottle.

I am enjoying a nice pour of MM101.  It is a well balanced whisky at the perfect proof.

Doggone,  I wish I could find this stuff.

Long time no talk. Hope everyone's doing well on this fine Thursday evening!

RR tonight because you guys convinced me to keep drinking it and I have no regrets.

Started with a KC Blend while firing up the grill between raindrops. Beautiful!!!

Next a HMK; not bad at all.

Finished and for desert a 4 parts Stagg Jr, 3 parts ER and 2 parts BT Blend; Excellent!!!

The clear winner; ME!!!

See "what's on the smoker" for reasoning...

Friday evening, and the wife is watching the Hawks game while I am watching the Braves.  Some Blanton's SFTB is in my glass while enjoying this end of the week.

Plenty of options but I am feeling a little bit old tonight.  Old Forester, Old Grand Dad.

Hey, aren't you supposed to be drinking Benchmark?  What does the Big Fella think about your shenanigans?

You have whipped up on that bottle having just received it today.  I understand.  Sometimes a pour is so good you want to see if the next one is the same. 😀

I know, but then I’m supposed to really think and it’s been a long week.

Deceptive post.  I dug out the open ETL I had.

Even though the sun went down and cooled things off, it was so damn hot today I'm still feeling scorched.  So I just poured from my  freezer bottle, FC103 6 yr.  Ahhh that's good.

Almost as good as the ball game I just watched, nice to see a great battle between 2 good teams ... and to see my Astros walk off the White Sox in the bottom of the 9th.

Driftless Glen.    A very creditable craft bourbon which reminds me of Beam.

Hot and muggy day here at the beach.    Hey,   I'm not complaining;  folks out west have it a lot worse today.   Give it an hour and thunderstorms will roll by.

I'm sipping a Russell's Reserve Single Barrel,  proofed down to about 100 or so.    Tastes good.

Some more of the Knob Creek 9 Single Barrel. I set it out for a good half hour, now smells and tastes even better. Happy Saturday, everyone. :)

That looks interesting, may try. I like this bottle but it's a bit too hot for me unless I let it air out for a while.

Another freezer pour of Fighting Cock 6yr on a hot afternoon.

Of all the great things I've learned on this forum perhaps the freezer pour is the most unique to SB and also my favorite; I would have never come across this on my own.  Thanks to veteran SBers.

Clyde May's Special Reserve 5yr 110pf Straight Bourbon Whiskey over a spherical mint infused ice cube with the Prime Rib Eye left over from our 44th Anniversry dinner at Capital Grill last night (Yummo!). Last night, Blanton's neat with Point Judith fired calamari, Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label with our Caesar salad and BV Tapestry 2011 from the wine locker with the rib eye and SWMBO's crab/lobster crabcakes for dinner. Flourless chocolate cake and cheescake for dessert.  Lots of laughs with the "people watching" in The Lounge made for a great night, too.   SWMBO drove home . . . . .  🥳

The bourbon sounds great but the food sounds spectacular.  Rib Eye, Crab, Lobster, Calamari.  GeeTen and SWMBO are living the best life!

With such a small pour left this one is liable to end up empty tonight. A good friend of mine gave me this on my wedding day in April 2018. It's been a delight.

The bottle and glass look to be close to equilibrium.  The glass may have a slight edge.  I say you finish the bottle as a toast to your bride and your friend.  I like to enable and encourage enjoying life.  Text your friend to say thanks and tell your bride you love her.  Win-win-win.  Loving marriage, strong friendship, good whiskey.
