Radioyada
My first bottle of OF Birthday. Gotta say this is way better than the pour of last year’s bottle that I tried at a bar a few months ago. Watching some college football while enjoying a relaxing evening.
MTNBourbon
Been sitting on this bottle for 4 months, finally getting to it. Very nice, but definitely not for the price. Very nice cinnamon, vanilla, tobacco, cherries. Very very smooth, pretty dry on the finish. A very very drinkable bourbon for the proof.

The nose also has a very bad combination of black licorice and really bad cinnamon candy smell. Just a flat out unenjoyable nose. 2nd— taste, Very flat (as in, it never changes from the front of the palate to the back) and hot for 86 proof. It taste like a bar vodka that somebody put wood chips in to flavor it a little, But not very much flavoring came through. I cannot put my finger on one note that reminds me of a traditional bourbon. That’s the best I can do. I’m just not good at this. Take my word though, it’s bad. Thanks for taking the bullet for the rest of us on this one. I was in my liquor store the other day and noticed that Green Door distillery here in Kalamazoo has a bourbon release now. Label said it was finished and bottled in Kalamazoo so I assume that it is sourced from MGP. The distillery is younger than the juice in this bottle. I would strongly recommend that everyone avoid their products for now. Their vodka tastes like Corn liquor and their Gin is basically undrinkable.

smokinjoe
A really good Eagle Rare in the glass, now. Loads of cherry cough drops and nice oakiness to keep it tied together. A little faint on the finish would be my only complaint, but the oak still works through, regardless. Now, just wondering which cigar I’m going to pair with it…

B.B. Babington
Though normally I do smorgasbord, tonight just standard EC. Often when I put EC in mix it's grassy and takes second pour to clear to normal. Normally I like the upfront flavors but tonight not getting much, however after 7oz getting florals on after, reminiscent of old McKenna BIB or pre-fire EC18. Lovin' the nostalgia.

I wouldn’t call what I described as a “little faint on the finish” to be anywhere near “disappointing”, it’s just that it didn’t (tough act to follow) stay up with the spectacular entry and flavor over the palate notes. In general, I find mid to upper level BT #1’s to be top notch all around. This was a very good ER.

mbroo5880i
Apparently, my bosses figured out I am a moron. Already picking up additional work because we "operate" lean so they added more on to my work load. No issues, this happens a lot and I enjoy different challenges. My challenge tonight is how to celebrate more work. OF100 seems like an inexpensive yet appropriate selection. I am an old forester in my work force and I still give 100% effort. Two pours. I believe I will have another.

Yeah....I used to like it back when it was $30.00 Hell, I used to buy it and bring it to parties, tailgates, etc. when it was cheap. This one is pretty good, but not $41.00 good. There are a lot of better choices out there at that price point. After this one is gone, I won't buy another. I still have a screw top, that I picked up from the Evan Williams experience a few years ago, when one of the distillers was signing bottles. I think it was around $40.00 back then too. Not sure what I was thinking, (I'm a cheap bastard), but a few shots at the EW Speakeasy tour probably had a little something to do with it . I'll probably crack that one, before the corked one is finished, and do a SBS to see just how different they are. RT Fan
The round robin continues, last night it was Willett versus Woodford, both drunk neat. Had the Willett first and it was the clear winner. I have always liked Woodford, perhaps I will reverse the order another time and see if that affects my decision.

They didn’t increase the price yet but did put it in the display case which was a first. Should of realized that bourbon 2020 was going well past the Fonz jumping the shark and it was at the point where the shark was jumping over Fonz. Crap I can’t even find EWSB anymore. I was at TW yesterday evening they got in some Booker’s, people where running around like they won the lottery with $85 Booker’s. I’m looking around for a $19 bottle of Old Bardstown 90 proof and there’s some lady telling some guy AAA10 is the same mashbill as Blantons and thus most people think it’s the same thing but she could tell the difference in a blind. I got kind of excited as I’ve never seen the 90 proof 10 star but pretty sure she was looking at the plastic 1.75 liters of AA 80 proof which last time I looked had a 24 or 36 month fine print age statement. I hope she bought some and could taste the difference between it and Blanton’s even though the Blanton’s probably isn’t much older these days and they probably are as selective in barrels they use. Man I’m going to save my money for the much more quiet scotch aisle.

bayouredd
OF Friday will end here! I've been at this scheme for a few months now and will end it. This is the second to last of what was my favorite of 2020. A store pick of of which I have but one left; bunkered... No worries, the next pours of 4RSiB & Blanton's seemed to be almost as good. Cheers All!!! Today I started a bit early w/ EC18. After placing shrimp on the grill, ET will get the call...
