smokinjoe
What a difference a year makes. 1 year ago I was crapping all over Old Tub as an astringent, hot mess. I. Hated. It. Picked one up earlier today just to see if my impression would be the same. Nope. I’m enjoying it much more now. All those things I was getting then, I do not get, now. It is very full of classic Beam signature notes. There is that juiciness that I really like in younger Beam whiskies. Totally digging it. I’m pretty confident that this is not a change in the whiskey, but more a change in my palate. I don’t know what was funkin’ out my taster a year ago that had me hatin’ on the Old Tub, but I hope I avoid it from now on!

Jazzhead
These two are sharing a clear November night; the ECBP, batch C921, is a superb vanilla bomb with a luscious mouthfeel. The 1792 Full Proof is just bourbon at its most kickass traditional. The clear sky under a waxing gibbous tempts me to throw some Full Proof in a flask and check out the beach, not another soul in sight.

flahute
My local often does his barrel picks at my house (when picking from sample bottles) and he always leaves the sample bottles behind. My first pour tonight was the remains of two samples of 1792 Full Proof that I vatted. Very nice.

Sounds like a great time and a great score since you were left with the samples!
PaulO
A nice pour from a freshly opened bottle of WT 101 tonight, making homemade chili tomorrow (beans are soaking), then watch football games. Wife will be at work.

flahute
Was needing a snack so I pulled out some Wheat Thins and put salami and havarti cheese on top of them. Then poured some ECBP. Was surprised to discover how great this pairing is.

B3Nut
Nothin' fancy, just good ol' MM with George Winston "Autumn" on the kitchen stereo, tossing a ball a little for the growing-like-a-weed Lab pup...she's just full of the dickens...Woodmans has been having the MM for 20.99 for a 750...no brainer at that price. Turkey 101 is 19.99...need to grab another of that soon...

On a different note, I finished the last third of a L&K Russell's Reserve (Thanks @GeeTen). The first half of the bottle was pretty dry and almost too woody. The second half of the bottle was a home run. Gushing with cherry, caramel, and warm creme brulee notes. It's a little more believable of a palate turnaround than Old Tub.
