Went with a 2010 bottle of  Bigfoot. It’s drinking well but not in a sweet spot. If I’m up for another BW after this I’ll report back on a 2012. Cheers!!D99EC4B1-C9EB-44D0-880D-6711D345EE4C.thumb.jpeg.fe705c29e492931d8b6447b4caccb2d9.jpeg

We call yours an "Imperial pint" to distinguish them.  Ours is based on being simply 1/8 of a gallon.  Any good pub or bar here in the states worth its salt serves proper British or Irish draught beer in an Imperial pint glass.

Been battling a head cold the last couple of days, so calling the week over a little early.  Going with a beautiful Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, to start the medication regimen.  😁

Weeded a pea gravel walkway filled with honey suckle, henbit, and some unidentified sticky plant.  Did it sitting down, of course, and scooted up the wide steps.  Filled an average sized leaf bag.  Yeah, I'm bragging.😉  Most yard work I've done in two years.  Kept my thirst in check by sipping on a Port City Porter, Alexandria, Va, 7+% ABV.  I love this porter - it rivals Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter and, in my opinion, is a shade tastier (more mocha, less chalk-feel) than Anchor.  Deschutes Black Butte gives it a run for my money, but PCP (hahahaha) is easier to find here.

  • 2 weeks later...

Enjoyable time out back waiting for some hockey to start. Phish might be on the stereo and Long Beach in the glass.

Radiant Pig, Save the Robots IPA while enjoying a gorgeous NYC afternoon at the YOTEL 4th floor patio.  Passed several Likkra Stores on the cab ride from LGA, and figured MarekV8 has been in every damn one of them…twice or more…🤣

Easing into the weekend with a 7.0% IPA bottled on 5/5. Nothing spectacular but satisfying.

A couple of dark lagers last night while I cleaned the grill and got it going.   I'm not super familiar with these styles of beer but they were both tasty.  Surprisingly light and refreshing.  They suit the change of seasons.  I'm going to pick up more of the maibock today.  Grimm does some good lagers.

2 hard to find styles!  I love the old German styles, unfortunately they are increasingly hard to find these days.

This is excellent for my mood. A lot of indecision on how to spend time this Saturday night. Baseball team won earlier today, no hoops, it’s going to be a lazy evening. This Pilsner is crisp AF.

I tried a couple new ones.

Pabst Blue Ribbon Extra - at 6.5% I would call this malt liquor, something along the lines of Mickey's Big Mouth.

Boatswain Hazy IPA - it starts off with strong grapefruit, and finishes with a bitterness similar to cold coffee.  Although the name is "Hazy" it appears quite clear in the glass, no suspended yeast, even with the last pour from the can no sediment.

Big surprise was Narragansett.  I got a 12 pack with the 1975 retro can design, and Jaws movie shark on the box.  The beer itself is American light lager.  It's your basic beer, but well made and tasty.  I would personally rate this higher than the ones that advertise a lot during sports (Bud, Miller, Coors).

Nice! You should see how that works in a Campari Radler.

I was watching the Grand Prix Monaco this morning and due to numerous delays that caused me to lose track of time I tuned into Indy with only 4 laps remaining.

I had high expectations for this random Ballast Point. It’s made with spruce tips and for me tastes like a household cleaner. May have to go back to the fridge…

Campari Radler, you say!  I am not familiar with that, but I looked it up and it sounds refreshing.  88 and Sunny forecasted for tomorrow.  I’ll whip one up and let you know what I think!
