Not planning a SBS but I will join you in a Bookers pour.  Tommy’s Batch for me.
Miss-posted in the What did you purchase thread.  A mind is a terrible thing to waste, or be wasted.

Maker’s Mark at the bar as a palate cleanser after a Scotch tasting event…

We’ll say goodbye to this terrific bottle of a GBS EC12.  The final pour is brimming with a Cherry Dr. Pepper note.  This barrel was 14 yrs old when bottled, and the wood notes have really been polished, and never overbearing, even here at the end.

More W12 for $12 at favorite pub. I think I killed the entire bottle, maybe folks were afraid to ask the price.

Meanwhile at a nearby store on my way…

That is a cool picture.  It looks like your pour is on fire.

Side by side by side…. The short version is the 14 and the 16 year are so similar you can hardly tell them apart. I will give the upper hand to the 16y. But both 14 and 16y are really good. The 15 is good just not as good.

A little Jeff Lynne tonight with a lot bourbon.  It's like magic!  A generational thing I guess.  ECBP.  The bottle is now empty.  Work tomorrow.  No.  My boss told me all is good.  Now, if only the weather will cooperate this weekend, I will stain the deck during the day and drink bourbon in the evenings.

On to the important stuff…. It’s John Wayne‘s birthday today, looking around my collection to find a suitable pour. And came up with an eight year old Fighting Cock. Sooooo gooood.
The Duke would be proud.

My local got in barrel pick of wheated Wilderness Trail at 4yrs 8mo and 112 proof and it's incredible. Hard to believe the quality at that age. Given the age I'm guessing it's off the column still and it looks to have had a low entry proof. I'm really impressed.

Thoroughly impressed with Wilderness Trail.  Visited them when I was in Kentucky, whish I would bought more of their wheated bourbon.  I really liked the "Ferm Solutions" part of their OG business making/storing yeast strains and help multiple big name distilleries with issues.  Everybody should know that the yeast used is a major component in the end products taste.

I am there with you brother.  We needed the rain but it has stopped my deck work for the past week (painting the railings).
Also, my lumber delivery has been delayed twice (now due on Monday) due to some serious bs.

When it rains, I pour!  Cheers.

Hey, is that a little bit of brown liquid in the cap of the inverted bottle? 😜  Sounds like you are having fun.  Camping, lake, bourbon and family!  Have a great holiday weekend!

Wiped out a bottle of ECBP last night.  No, it wasn't full.  Just a few pours left.  Anyway, after a long day of deck cleaning in preparation to stain this weekend, I opted for a pour of Woodinville Bourbon.  The standard fare at 90 proof.  My expectations were that it might seem muted after last night's proof blaster.  I was pleasantly surprised to find the Woodinville profile is in full bloom this evening.  Nice light caramel and oak on entry followed a modest finish of pepper, leather and tobacco that I have remarked on before. This is my third bottle of this offering and each has delivered consistently.  Not overly complex but it so approachable and each sip is enjoyable.  Dare I go back for more?

Haha.. I sometimes find a drop or two in an "empty" bottle when I go to recycle it.
